I have a question...

I didn't know who to address my question to, whether just the forum posters, or the forum moderators, so I'm throwing it out to everyone.

Has there ever been a scheduled "live chat" here on the forums? Like, say, at 8pm eastern, those who want to gather in whichever forum topic suits it best, can do so. That way we can be more like talking to one another, versus waiting several minutes, hours, or a day for a reply? Maybe this isn't allowed because meanies could turn it ugly? Just curious, because I think it would be fun. If it is okay, or I need to ask permission to do so, I'd like to give it a try sometime.

Not scheduled by the Q, but posters have chats about stars walking the red carpet or watching a Q show.

I bet something like that would be easier for the mods to monitor and shut down if it got too hot. Of course that wouldn't be hard because as we all know if you don't want to get deleted you better choose your words wisely.

they already do live chats on facebook.....it could turn into a disaster on here, especially since we are "anonymous."

there are so many people complaining about so many other problems regarding ths website that i think they need to focus on solving those issues first before beginning a new venture.

I don't think I understand what you're asking but I have been called on the phone before by the QVC moderators.

I also have two people here I correspond with and email. One of them I've spoken to several times.

I think I understand what you're asking. Someone else mentioned that, when a certain show is on, you might see threads started with titles like, "who's watching the Linea show right now," and everyone watching the Linea show can chat in real time, so to speak.

If I were inclined to do something like you suggest, I might post a thread with a title like, "Let's talk about [fill in the blank with your topic]. Then my first post would say something like, "Let's talk about [subject] Monday night 2/5/18 at 8PM EST." Then, hopefully, those interested in talking about your subject will come by tomorrow at 8PM to chat "live."

I don't think you need permission to do something like that.

@Annabellethecat66If this is an "annonymous" place to post, why oh why, would a monitor call you at home? I cannot imagine what circumstances would warrant such a phone call.

The moderators do contact posters who are customers to help with customer/purchase issues. They usually do it by voicemail, but I’ve seen where they offered to call.

No one who has ever ordered is anonymous to the moderators, whether we contact them first or not.

a moderator called me and left a message once. i had had a problem with an order and was talking about it in a thread. she saw it, and she called to let me know she was going to take care of it for me.......and she did......she definitely went above and beyond to keep me a happy customer.

@BirkiLady Does your nickname mean "Birkenstock". If it does....sign me up for a Birkenstock lover too. You've probably seen where I have about 100 pair of Birkenstock shoes (mostly sandals). Some are kinda wild looking but most of them came from QVC when they used to sell them.

For some reason they make my bad back hurt less.

@sunshine45 The moderators have access to everyone's info here (just guessing) but it doesn't bother me. I mean they know the name attached to the moniker. It would just be a matter of them calling and getting my phone number.

I thought it was a very, very nice jester for her to do that. What was it about? Well, it was when I was boo hooing about the mail person leaving my boxes out in the pouring rain. It was about the box that held all of the packages of popcorn falling all over the sidewalk when I picked up the box because the box was so freaking wet.

The Dr. Denese box was soaked but hadn't entirely fallen apart. Good thing because it kept the bottle of Hydroshield (which is thick liquid) from breaking on the sidewalk.

Beth (a moderator) I think that was her name. She identified herself and was very gracious. I only had nice things to say about her. If she is indicative of the other moderators......well...she does an excellent job representing them.

years ago they did have live chats.

I can't remember if it was the Q or HSN.

The designers of certain items that were sold on the channel would agree to host live questions-chat forums.

Have not seen this for several years.

Since I've been here, around 13-14 years, they have not had 'chat' on this board. I can't see it happening, either.

On normal boards, it's a fun thing to do. But here - yikes! It would go south quickly because there are always those who like to tear down whatever anybody is discussing - just for the fun of it, it seems.

@Annabellethecat66YES! I have been wearing Birkenstock sandals since 1968 when I visited my fiance' (who was stationed in Germany) during my summer vacation. He had purchased a pair (Arizona in tan suede) for me before my arrival. We traveled to Spain and back; those were the only sandals I had during the entire month. I was hooked. We were married in March, 1969 after his tour of duty was finished and he returned to Nebraska.

Little did I know how really amazing Birkenstock's really were until I stopped working and gave up my heels for sandals completely. Why didn't I do that decades ago? (Because there were dress codes set forth by men in the corporate world.) Plus, I adored my heels, silk blouses and suits (or silk dresses) in all honesty. Anyway, I had to stop working for health reasons at 51 (now 69). Immediately began wearing sandals all the time! My PCP was so pleased. He's still so pleased!

Last fall I was cleaning out a closet in the lower level of my house (I use ALL of the closets and bathroooms even though I live alone now). Found SEVEN pair of new sandals purchased from QVC that had never been opened! Still had the invoices with each box . . . those were the greatest prices ever!! Felt like cleaning out the closet was actually hitting GOLD! Especially since Birkenstock only has two color choices in the Arizona with the original footbed (don't care for the soft footbed). These "new" sandals are all the original footbeds and in such pretty styles! Anxious for warm weather to wear those Birki's.

Always nice to know another Birkenstock fan. Happy they make your back feel better. Wear in good health!

Replacing order

I’m kind of sad. Placed an order in which I was given easy pay and free shipping. I realized I place the order for the wrong item number but it was still with the same product company. I wanted to cancel the old order number and buy the new one but I was not going to receive the same offer of easy pay and free shipping. I could get the easy pay but was told that I could not get the free shipping. I guess I just don’t understand. I wanted to see if a manager could help me but the person I was talking to said No that I couldn’t get the free shipping. ( I don’t even think they ask for a manager. ) ☹️ I would think that they would give me the same offer to keep and make a customer happy. I know it’s silly because the shipping is only $3.00 but it was the principal of it. Oh well. I guess I’m going to have to really think before I order again from QVC. THANKS FOR LISTENING. Hugs p

@KitTkat - Yes, as someone else said they are titled by the subject to be discussed for that particular date and listed in the proper forum.

I have seen one in the Fashion Forum and Beauty Forum also.

If there is a particular forum you are interested in with a specific topic give it a try.
