Anyone else see the video of the porch pirate (Not sure where this happened) who grabbed the packages and was running to the car and slipped on the wet grass? She messed up one of her ankles big time. Her accomplice had to pick her up and carry her back to the car and of course he came back for the packages. I hope she is in A LOT of pain

I heard on Inside Edition that she took someone's medicine that was in one of the packages.

She probably is taking that for the pain. Hope they do an update and she and the driver get caught. Horrible people.

I don't know why people think it's ok to steal packages off peoples porches. What's wrong with these people. They need to get a life.

At Christmas I went out to get our mail & the mailman was across the street leaving a package. I told him that probably was not a good idea since she has been gone for at least a week & did not know when she would be back. I took the package to give to her when I saw her. I wrote a note & put it on her front door so she would know I had it. She knew the package was coming from a phone call she received. She figured when she got home it would have been stolen. It would have been if I had not seen the mailman leaving it.

It kind of makes you wonder. Porch pirates stealing packages. Bold! They hack into your computer and they hold it for ransom. On Facebook you can get your account hacked. Phone scams are unbelievable nowadays. Door-to-door salesman that is long in the past. All the crooked people around really changed this world. The worst is identity theft you can not even throw your name and address out in the trash. Nowadays they even can get your tax return unbelievable. I am glad I’m old because I can remember the good old days. We knew our elderly neighbor who had nothing to do, so she would listen in on the party line on your home phone for entertainment. LOL

It irritates me to no end to see how our society has regressed. I don't know when or how people have lost their conscience thinking it's OK to expect others to work so they can live for free. What I do know is what comes around goes around, and these unscrupulous people will eventually get what they deserve.....if not in this life, then in the next.

We personally asked our mail man and UPS carrier to leave pkgs. at side door (not seen from street).

They know the problem of theft w/ pkgs. and are happy to help out, as long as you’re not asking them to go far out of their way to an out building or somewhere else on your property.

@2blonde I think that there are people - many people who think some folks just have it all given to them and they don't deserve it.When I was a senior in high school they had an assembly all the seniors went to where those who had gotten schlorships were presented with certificates & also all the honor students were given recognition. There were people in the audience who sat there and booed everyone who got any recognition.On the trolley on the way home I was asking a kid I knew why they booed and a girl said because we are sick & tired of the certain little darlings getting everything for nothing while we just get nothing. Clearly, she did not understand that no one gets anything for nothing. Those who were on the honor roll & those who got schlorships had to work extremely hard to get those grades. No one gave you all A for nothing - they are earned.

Anyway - people who think everyone else is getting everything for nothing feel they have a right to steal to get their share. They are clueless just like those kids at that assembly.

Its a sad commentary on whats happened to our society where moral values and a clean conscience have gone by the wayside..... And if I sound like a "get off my lawn" "old" lady....SO BE IT!!! I remember respect for other people's property and a better world!!!

I think we need to bring back shame...nobody feels any so they are able to carry out these petty crimes and then have people who rally around them with excuses instead of a little justice...well they were experiencing hard times,bad childhood,drug addictions...etc.We need to bring back shame on you instead of shame on society for not seeing that your life is difficult.

This is the mentality (and I use the term mentality lightly)....one "team" that was caught was on the news and one of the crooks was crying and said "she was praying that they wouldn't get caught".............SMH

It's also, as I have seen with my own eyes, what they have been taught from the cradle to believe as a fact. Wonder how many of them were teens from back in the day in 151949's trolley. I know people my age who were brought up thinking that way from their parents who learned it from their parents and so on....and their kids and grandkids think the same way.

Off shoot: friend of one of my sons' has this mentality. He is not allowed in our home because I will not have myself or anyone else disrespected for what they have WORKED for. When his attitude changes, so will mine. My son is starting to see the light now that he's heading into college while this friend....is getting into trouble. We'll see.

I agree, but I wonder if she learned anything.....if she will think twice before doing this kind of thing again?
