No doubt there's a lot of loose ends out there. I'm sure anxious offenders feel as if social rules have changed. Maybe seeing themselves as offenders for the first time. Zero tolerance needed to happen long before now. Feel badly for all victims of abuse and anyone who may fall victim to being falsely accused. And this is going to happen as well.

Not sure if QVC will allow this post to last as it might be deemed political but so far it is here and I feel like answering it. I haver zero tolerance for abuse of any kind.I have four daughters. I do feel however that if one is sexually harassed they should report it immediately NOW and not 30 years down the road. The reporting has become epidemic and I think it has hurt the cause. And in my case because of my lifestyle I get hugged almost every evening... it is a common practice among square dancers.. it is called Yellow Rock and it makes you feel welcome and appreciated. I think some of this ME TO has gone too far. It is join the crowd... and ultimately those who need help will be ignored.

@bonnielu, if you haven't already, I strongly suggest that you read the link that @Pearlee provided. There is more than enough to support his being let go.

And no one will ever accuse square dancers for merely hugging one another. You know that.

@bonnielu I square danced for 10 years and it didn't take long to figure who is there for the right or wrong reason. The way we did the yellow rock was a side hug so anything other than that wasn't appropriate. If a person chose not to YR extend your hand.

I never seen him alot on the air, but when he was, I just always thought his demeanor and voice was just perfect for the reporting he was doing. Very low key, but effective.

As info, Court documents released in May 2013 revealed the DOJ was secretely monitoring Washington journalist James Rosen, searching his personal emails, cell phone records, and his movements in and out of the State Department, even though he had not been charged with any crimes.

sad, if true. James Rosen is a top investigative reporter, an amazing wordsmith,doodler, and author. i note that not one of his alleged accusers actually responded and verified veracity. but one assumes something was going on. he has been silent on Twitter. i hope he straightens things out - however - and lands on his feet. as a reporter, he played it right down the middle (just the facts, ma'am) - and that's darned rare.

Yes, I agree if you have a job that if you do that you can just get another one. The problem with where all this is happening, is that you at blackballed from your CAREER. YOU must leave and the harasser can stay(like Weinstein). You give up your career. I guess that is fine with you.

Im not talking about working in a normal job like we all have. I have seen a man get fired when I worked at headquarters for a major toy retailer for harassment and he was handicapped!

Did anyone see what Paul Sorvino said concerning his daughters problem? He would have ------ the ------------. She never told him so he didn't know. Her career went in the garbage because she wouldn't give in. If you're not in a career oriented industry you can't understand.

i was a data entry clerk long ago. That happened to me. I gave him a kick in the -----. He was a boss, I got fired. No problem for me getting another job because it wasn't a career that I would be blackballed in.

You have to weigh your options.

@esmerelda, I don't get the seque from your first sentence to the rest of your post. "We have to watch out for the normal ones" seems to mean that you are essectially agreeing with hooty, who said we have to watch out for the quiet ones.

Okay, so we might expect some quiet and/or normal people to be accused of sexual harassment. Right?

How in the heck do you then get to Oprah and her being outed? Yes, we all know that some in the industry were well aware of his reputation but said nothing. Shame on them now in hindsight.

Seems that you're more concerned with the latter than the former. The focus should be on the aggressors first, shoudn't it?

And as others have noted repeatedly, in real life, not the rarified world of celebrities or politicians, women and men have to weigh their options about coming forward. Heck, the same could be said for many of the "little" people even in Hollywood and the halls of congress and other political sites.
