Use Easy Pay or Not

Personally I am finding it so confusing to check on charges when I use easy pay. It is a convenience in one side but extra time consuming on other. I think I would like to confine to those items of larger dollar amounts only so I can easily reconcile. Any thoughts?

@Twins Mom- I’m not a fan of easy pay and don’t use it. I don’t like to create debt by extending payments.

Sometimes I order on easy pay, then when I'm sure I'm keeping the item, I will go ahead and pay it off.

I use the feature sparingly. You can get caught up in a cycle of never-ending debt, and it’s too easy to forget about those beauty and fashion purchases made months ago while the total piles up higher and higher.

Since they don't charge interest if you pay your monthly bill in full each month, I think it's a good deal. You have to check on your account regardless, so it doesn't bother me to take a little more time and make sure everything is correct. That being said, the customer should not have to double check the Q.

I use easy pay on more expensive items. If something is less than $50 I pay for it all at once. I never take more than 3 easy payments because I don’t feel like paying it off for 6 months. I write down everything I buy, I write the date, what it is, the amount and how many easy pays with the number of the payment next to it. Every month I write it again with the next payment it is.

It shows up on my credit card statement (not QVC card) ... 1 of 3, 2 of 3. etc.

And, QVC sends a monthly account summary that separates the orders into easy pay and non-easy pay. No problem to keep tabs on what I'm spending.

@Twins Mom If you go to your account and look under Easy Pay, you can then see them by order or by month. It's actually really convenient to do it by the month so you can see what you have coming up and budget accordingly. The dates of the charges for the upcoming month are all there prior to the start of the month, but they disappear as the charge is made. If you print or save the new month before the end of the prior month, you'll have all the dates of the anticipated charges so you'll be able to reconcile your charge statement accordingly

Used only for larger ticket items and placed on my VISA, which is paid off in full each month. Have taken advantage of easy-pay in the past. Haven't been watching QVC in 2017 so haven't been using it recently. Another plus of perusing videos only! Purchases have been much, much less this year.

I like easy pay, but it makes it too easy to have a continual bill from QVC, and while if paid each month, there is no interest, it does get old always having a Q card bill coming in.

I tend to do it more from July through the holiday for gift shopping, more so than the other half of the year.

I did easy pay at HSN for a roomba because I was so on the fence about it and didn’t want to lay out all the cash initially until I hada chance to try it.

EP is helpful but it can be seductive too! It’s tempting to buy something you normally wouldn’t so I have to ask myself if that’s my case when purchasing on HSN. I rarely buy anything here.

I use to use easy pay on everything I purchased. I stopped doing the easy pay a year ago ....the past year I just pay for everything in full. At the end of the month I pay the bill and I know I do not owe more.

I think you lose track of what you REALLY owe when you use easy pay. It really is deceptive selling.... and EASY is not always the best choice.

If the item being sold is same for easy pay and full pay customers and the total price is the same and it is clearly stated what the number and amount of the product easy pays are where does the deception come in?

I was just having this conversation with myself today. I no longer want to pay for anything over a 5 or 6 month period. I'm currently not buying until my Q Card is paid off. After that, I not planning to use easy pay again. If I can't afford it, in full then I shouldn't order it.

@Marp I am sure you are not easily fooled....but many people who are shopaholics... or not too bright....hear “ get this home for only $5.99 or whatever the first easy pay is....or the host says” buy everything for just $49 dollars”.( which is the easy pay on items combined but in reality that would be the total amount for 6 months for payments.) That is all they hear. That is deceptive selling.

I have never used easy pay, it sounds nice though!

I don't buy if I feel uncomfortable to pay in full.

It may not be deceptive, but it's a little but sleazy when they conveniently leave out easy pay when they give the lower price. Transactions should be clear, with no chance for misunderstandings.
