I find all these apologies so insulting. They were just saying Matt Lauer's was heart felt.

Really? Thery're only sorry they got caught. Lauer had a button under his desk.

I can't say for sure whether someone means something they say or not. I'm holding off until I see real action. A change in behavior and the way that they treat women and effort to make amends to those they have harmed will make me believe they are truly remorseful.

The only thing they are sorry for is that they got caught. Those "heartfelt" apologies and the blah blah blah are written by their publicists and lawyers they hire to staunch the bleeding. They have to say something, so put a press release out with the usual bull ******. I expect Lauer to announce that he's going somewhere for "treatment" since his actions are 100 times worse that the earlier ones.

I really don't know, because I can't read hearts or minds. I am of the belief when you inflict damage on someone, restitution is in order.

Actions speak louder than words. I doubt that any of them ever thought they would have to answer for what they have done. They repeated their actions time and again. A truly penitent person, would have stopped after the first time

A simple I'm sorry, seems a day late, and a dollar short to me

It has also been reported that many, many people at NBC knew all along this was going on and nothing was said. It was a well kept open secret. While I get he is the offender, what about everyone else who let this go on without a word?

In a 2012 interview, Katie Couric said Matt pinched her butt all the time. Did everyone think that was funny? Was nothing done?

I'd really like someone to explain to me how Lauer's apologies can be "heartfelt" when - while he was abusing women - he was calling out others for abuse.

So he "knew" what they were doing was wrong - but he has just now suddenly realized that he was wrong too?

NBC has to be complicit since someone in authority had to authorize the installation of the locking mechanism. Some of these women might end up owning NBC!

It should be a standard corporate practice that offices have glass doors/walls. Every place I ever worked over the last 30 or so years ... there were always glass panels on all office doors.

I totally agree the only thing these men are sorry for is that they got caught. Every single one of them knew what they were doing was SO WRONG. I always knew Hollywood was a cess pool, various political individuals are disgusting as well. I guess we can add news media men also to the mix. This horrible behavior does go on in so many work areas. I wouldn't be a bit surprised that most working women (at one time or another) have been subjected to this kind of disgusting behavior. Any man, regardless of who they are, should be punished. Fired from their employment, publicly shamed, and taken to court. Women have been taken advantage of for ages. Time it stops.

She lost consciousness and needed medical help, so he had an assistant take her to see the nurse.

Usually the courts don’t find an apology is enough in an attack like that.

Plenty of people at the top knew about Matt & could have taken action but did nothing. Cokie Roberts said it was well know that women reporters shouldn't get on an elevator alone with Mr Conyers & she said nothing. I've posted this before but will again...Silence is an abusers golden ticket. I know it's difficult to speak up but you must no matter the cost to you, it's for yourself & to prevent other victims because that abuser will punch that golden ticket over & over again. Matt's apology means nothing to me....heartfelt, no.
