Qvc sold out of "Living Proof amp" hair product.

Not only did Amazon have the item 15.59 free shipping no tax.

Me too! Fast, free shipping, good prices and a lot of choices. If I find something I want in a store or online, I check Amazon to see if it's available--it usually is--and order from them.

Up until this week I would have said that I would agree.

I ordered 5 car chargers for phones. The were about $8.00 each. I realized that I only needed 2 so I went on line to return to find out that they are not returnable. I searched the original site for the fine print but if it is there I cannot locate.

It's not a big deal but it happened.

One time I got a package that was sent to me but the contents was not mine. It was a twin mattress pad. Im sure not expensive but I tried to go on line to return but could not locate any CS to help. I just put in closet and waited to see if they would contact me.

Overall they are a retail force for sure.

I do think Amazon can be great, but given what I buy I see no reason to make Bezos any richer than he already is! Every time I see a post here which asks why someone already rich and famous wants to sell something else and then I see that person enriching Bezos, I wonder what they really are thinking. There's no QVC vendor who has any money at all compared to him.

And Amazon isn't always better. I like Perricone products and have had one kit on AD for quite a while. Each time a shipment is imminent, I check to see whether the QVC price is still good. So far - just that one kit from which I use all the products is hundreds of dollars less than if I ordered the items from Amazon.

I agree about Amazon! Great prices, and stuff arrives in 2 days. If I have a problem, I call and it's taken care of. (That has rarely happened)

Amazon....the 2nd love of my life. Right now, I am loving Primenow. I needed a few things to make dinner tonight and few beauty items. Made my order and ....bam! Two hour delivery, my stuff will be here in an hour and no delivery charge.

Sorry but I have had bad experiences

1. A third party vendor not selling name brand merchandise he advertised and pictured in his product descriptions.....Amazon did nothing with my complaint and my negative review was deleted.

2. credit card was hacked on Amazon....new card and only purchase made was Amazon so easy to figure out where it occurred.

3. Harrassed by certain group that liked a particular author and didnt like the review I gave their favorite author....

4. Their prices arent as great as they used to be---shop around folks...............

5. They are a monopoly and sadly drove a lot of companies out of business and jobs have been lost---a little too big for their britches!

Personally NEVER buy from third parties.

Not able to address negative reviews or experiences.

Amazon has always made my shopping pleasurable.

The same is true for Qvc never had a problem.

Not saying bad experiences don't happen. Today merely wanted to share positive outcome. By the way! Great prime options to watch movies shows and series.

Are you sure? Has your item been delivered yet in a beat up old white truck with absolutely no lettering on it, and a delivery guy who looks like he'd rather rob you than throw the package at your doorstep?

I watched the whole thing from my bedroom window and waited until he was fully out of sight before I opened my door.

I will never order from Amazon again.

My one problem in years of Amazon shopping was with a 3rd party vendor. I went through the A to Z claim process, and Amazon stepped in and refunded my $$ very quickly. I won't purchase from 3rd party vendors any more. I don't see how Amazon would fail to settle a claim the customer initiates and follows up on if necessary, but I guess it is possible.

As to price comparing - don't we all do that, with every retailer?

I've been buying from Amazon since 1999 and it's been 99.9% excellent. I appreciate their stellar customer service. I do always compare and, while every now and then I can find a better price elsewhere, the vast majority of the time Amazon has the best price.

I also have had Prime for years and it's practically invaluable. I do watch some Prime original programming shows and also go there now and then for a movie or show (free with Prime). I get my money's worth, for sure, and I don't even have one of those little reading computers so that is even more available if I so choose.

I will purchase from third parties under certain for a few reasons but I probably get over 90% of the products direct. I usually have 300+ orders a year. Some of that is auto-delivery stuff. I like that I get another 15% off on AD items.

I have my eye on a coat but it is doubtful that it will go on sale. Currently, it is $148 and based on the reviews it was sold last year for $50. I guess they recycle customer returns and raise the price. Not good with that. In fact, I find it a bit confusing why only certain items are advertised in their cyber sales and not all will go on sale. A bit of a rip off I would say.

I have found great deals already on Wilson's Leather site. Also, with Amazon you will most likely get an Uber driver to deliver it. They can never find my packages. They look on the backseat then in the trunk. Just when I think they don't have it they check the front seat of their vehicle and yes, there are my packages. Very odd on their part.

Are the people who are having these other types of deliveries in large cities? Just curious. So far, all my Amazon deliveries have been either UPS, USPS, ONTRAC, or FedEx.

I don't get the love affair with Amazon. Everyone talks about "free shipping" when in reality you are just paying for that free shipping up front. I don't shop with them enough to justify paying for a prime membership.

Also, there are fake products being sold on Amazon. I would be very careful about buying any skincare, haircare, makeup, etc. on Amazon for fear of it being fake.

Someone on my gift list wanted a particular brand of lipgloss. I did a search for it knowing nothing about it and Amazon came up so I searched. It was sold by someone but fulfilled by Amazon. The price was cheap which made me question the gloss. I read reviews and come to find out, the product was fake, as was reported by many, many reviewers. Many said they reported it to Amazon and nothing was done. This person is still selling the fake gloss.

I'm sure Amazon, just as anything, isn't for everybody. Sounds like certain types of products can give a very different experience there, too.

I purchase a lot of household necessity items, electronic items, and kitchen stuff there with great success. Just one thing - the dog food. I buy the 30# bag of Wellness for the dog and it had gotten to the point where it cost $59.99 plus tax at PetSmart. I started getting it on AD at Amazon and it's usually somewhere between $44 and $47, out the door, plus it's delivered.

I cannot pick up stuff that heavy so it's easier to drag the box in the house, or get help from the UPS guy, and then I put it on a moving blanket and drag it through the house. hehe - weird, but it works.

But bottom line is that I save a ton on household stuff like that, paper goods, some soap products, etc, plus having the convenience of it being cheaper than I can get locally and that it's delivered.

Choices, right? Always good.

ITA with everything you said.

I USED to love shopping there, & I did buy a lot. But as of last month, I'm done. There are several reasons why, including their packaging (POOR) & delivery services. And if you put things in your cart, or your saved for later section, you'll notice just how much they mess with the pricing- sometimes SEVERAL TIMES A DAY on the same item.

Btw, don't ever order a glass item & a case of canned cat food. They'll ship them in the same box with some loose brown paper & 1 strip of green bubble pack.

And the Amazon white van delivery service is hideous....nothing but problems for me, & hours on the phone with CS.

I'd rather pay a little more for a number of reasons.

Yes, I have, & that was my final straw. The last delivery was a disaster.

The Amazon unmarked white van delivery is only in limited areas.

I've also had numerous issues with ONTRAC.....they're also a very low form of delivery service. I no longer order from any company that uses them.

Well now if everyone did that -- shopped in stores and then ordered online, there would be no brick and morter stores left. I have heard it discussed in a news program that this is, in a sense, stealing. You are using the store as a showroom for Amazon, when Amazon had no expense in showing you the product. Whereas the store is paying for their building, personnel, utilities, etc., only for you to spend your money elsewhere. Due to the size and scope of Amazon, as well as overworking their employees, they can cut their margins.
