Did you see the Instant Pot featured on a segment

of Jane Pauley’s CBS Sunday Morning this morning?

They were talking about trendy appliances which end up in the garage.

They demo’d with the Instant Pot...and gave it a 👍.

It’s a kitchen keeper!

I saw it. My daughter bought one recently. It’s a pressure cooker, a rice cooker, a slow cooker and you can braise in it. I lost track along the way of all the things it can do.

I would buy it, but my kitchen is small, I don't have t he counter space. I don't feel like schlepping up and down from my basement! At my WW meeting they're always talking about air fryers which is another appliance I would love to purchase.

I assume in store only. I wouldn't go to a Walmart on Black Friday if it was free. Maybe they'll have it on Cyber Monday too. I think 5 Quart is plenty big for two people.

The front page of their BR Ad says In Store starting 6 PM 11-23 & all day online. I would assume online would start at midnight.

There is no place where I live that I would waste my time going shopping BF or any other time. It's easier to do online plus I can find what I'm looking for. Their Ad is on their homepage online. Click on the 4th white dot on the banner at the top of the page to get to the ad.

They have a baby 3qt...it’s perfect for 1-2 people.

And they seem to market it to apartment/RV cooks.

What's the difference between an Instant Pot and any other electric pressure cooker? I have a CE electric pressure cooker and it's probably the one appliance I use the most. I love it.

@SilleeMee Probably not a great deal, except maybe the number and internal programming of the automated settings. I do prefer cooking in stainless steel rather than nonstick, so that's a plus. I'd say it's my second most used appliance, only because I use my microwave so often to heat things up.

@Jordan2 I don't have a basement. But if I did something else would move to the basement to make space. I use mine too often not to have it convenient.

At the time they became popular, they were the only

electric pressure cooker to have a stainless steel inner liner.

The competition has upped their game, so more brands

are now offering stainless. I never would use Teflon in a

‘high pressure setting, IMO.

Instant Pot has almost a cult following on social media.

Lots of website, blogs, vlogs, Facebook pages devoted to

that appliance. Also...they were one of the first cookers to

have a yogurt temperature function, as well.

ETA: I would remiss if I didn’t say...the Plant-Based Community,

which is huge, embraced this appliance...so much the recipe

book which accompanies the machine has 2 well-known

Plant-Based chefs offering recipes.

I did see that on Pauley's show, first time I ever saw it. I was intrigued....for 3 minutes and then I realized it would only sit and gather dust like all the other kitchen appliances I buy. Yes, I'm talking about YOU airless fryer...

My kitchen is totally bare bones. I am the only person I know who doesn't even have a microwave (and I've never even wanted one of those!)

How I manage to eat is a mystery!
