Weight Watchers new wine - Cense

I just found the specs on their new wine offering. It's 9.5% alcohol and a 5 oz. glass is only 85 calories. It's a white wine. Enjoy.

I didn't know WW was coming out with wine. If you like Pinot Noir, FitVine is nice. It has 95 calories, less than .2g of sugar and is 13.9% alcohol. They also have a Cab, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio.

The Cab was spicier than I like and the Pinot Grigio was ok. Would definitely buy the Pinot Noir again and it's nice to save a few calories without sacrificing taste.

We get it @sidsmom you follow a WFPB lifestyle and probably don't drink wine. However, some people enjoy a glass or two and if we can save some calories and sugar without sacrificing taste why do you care and why do you have to mock other posters?

Upon doing a quick google, this wine is not all that huge a calorie or WW points “savings” over regular wine, and the alcohol content is only a little more than an average imported beer - and they are talking a huuuuge 5 oz glass. Whoopee.

It seems like it would be good for non-drinkers, those who have a spritzer that’s 90% mixer, 10% alcohol; not really consuming alcohol but being able to say you are like the rest of the group.

People who enjoy wine do so because of both the taste and the alcohol content. No one pays for a glass of sour grape juice. If the taste of “diet wine” is affected as much as the taste of most lite beer, I will drink it, but not really enjoy it. I’d rather have the real thing less often.

I joined WW with a couple of friends years ago to get back in shape after having a baby. Almost everyone talked about having a drink on the weekend or for a celebration. We used to count it as a “Fruit”, LOL. I live near the wine country but I can’t drink any of it 😊

Oprah’s wine only saves 40 calories.

And I would guarantee it’s not going to be a tasty 80 calories.

Plus...it will probably lower your inhibitions & overeating of food

might be the next step. A.n.y. weight loss program, any program,

will discourage alcoholic beverages...again, ‘The Onion’.

sidsmom, I’ve spent a lot of my life reading “weight loss program”(s), and your glittering generalization about the mention of wine consumption more or less casts question on the credence of your statement.

A relative of mine in the care of a highly respected NEW YORK physician was prescribed a 4 oz glass of a particular Merlot every night, and lived to the age of 89.

I’m happy for you that you’ve found The Onion, which, in case anyone is not sophisticated in young adult online periodicals, is a humor magazine, so to translate for those of us who use our time otherwise, sidsmom is suggesting that many of our recent discussions are so ludicrous as to be humorous.

The opinions of other posters may disagree.

@violann when my husband was just a child, his dad died from cancer. Through his long ordeal, which last about 6 years, his Dr told him to have a glass of wine with his meals, to help build up his blood

He did it and it helped him

I’m flattered you dissolve my words to mockingly terms as

I'm on WW right now and I long ago came to realize that some things can't be substituted if you like taste. For me, I'm not willing to substitute real salad dressing and real wine, especially when only a few calories will be saved.

Not a big savings calorie-wise. I'd rather have the few extra calories in a nice glass of good "real" wine any day.

WW is in the money making business. This should suck in a few people who think that just because it's WW they can indulge.

If that doesn’t entitle me to object to your “my way or the highway” approach to posting, I won’t spar.

I obviously assumed incorrectly that you would not interpret pushback as insulting.

I wonder where this will be sold. WW has products that are ONLY available online via their site (you must be a member to see and order them) or in their meeting locations. In my state, wine can only be purchased in a licenced liquor store so is that where this will be available? Or in a grocery store with other WW items that they sell only in stores? Or, will this be home delivery along with Oprahs food? I also wonder about cost because, geez, WW stuff is not cheap. I cook with wine but support my local Mom and Pop shop; the taste and the cost better be better than what I'm able to purchase now from Australia, lol.

WIne is a BIG deal with the members where I go (sometimes I think it's TOO much of a big deal but whatever floats your boat) so the excitement is HIGH. Still, no leader appears to know just how this is going to be sold to the masses.

There’s a huge difference between disagreeing & personal attacking.

I don’t personally attack. I speak my viewpoints in generality

in a very ‘here are the facts’ way. If one doesn’t like those viewpoints,

I have no control over the way you emotionally understand those words.

I could have easily reported your post #13 as a ‘personal attack’,

but I didn’t.

My posts on this thread echoed @Moonchilde’s thoughts.

I’m still confused as to why I was singled out....
