Drugstore Brand Lotion

Switching from expensive lotions to drugstore purchase.....any recommendations? I've read alot of good reviews for Cerave and Cetaphil....any feedback? Or do you have a brand that you like.... Thanks....

I like philosopy the best,but I also like and will use Vanicream in the winter, it's dermatologist recommended and not filled with questionable chemicals.

I love Lubriderm Advanced Therapy for Extra Dry Skin.

I use it when I get out of the shower and it lasts all day.

I’ve been very satisfied with many Jergens formulations. Depending on what skin—face, elbows, hands—and how fast I need it to work, I select a tube or pump bottle that’s intended to get results. The price is right, the products are effective, and I’m not a big believer in expensive, exotic ingredients with rare substances, vitamin supplements for my skin to “drink”, or heavy greasy feel.

I also find Vaseline Intensive Care lotions and creams are good.

I believe both these brands come in unscented formulation, if that’s a factor in your purchasing.

It depends on what you're looking for. If you want a good moisturizer, I use Nivea, Cetaphil or Gold Bond. But honestly, most of the drug store brands in the same price range are good - nothing wrong with any of them and they're affordable. It just depends on what you're looking for. If you want something that is heavier and thicker for extreme dryness, then Derma Blend and Nivea are good as are the other brands that are formulated for extra dry skin.

I've been using Cetaphil for many years -- and am satisfied. It's one of the top 3 on the Consumers list.

Another devotee of Lubriderm! Have used it for years on my rather dry skin (Advanced Therapy for Dry Skin)) and it is just the BEST. I have a bottle in my bath and one on my nightstand.

I use it on hands, arms, feet and legs and it's GREAT!

My husband only uses St. Ives. He is very loyal to it, and he does not use anything else. I am the opposite. I love trying new lotions. I have tried Cetaphil before. It is very good. Trader Joe's Midsummer Night's Cream Moisturizing Cream is also very good.

For the hands, I swear by " Hand Chemistry" I find it at CVS. It costs a little more, but it is worth it.

My dr. noticed how dry my skin is and she recommended CeraV and I bought it in the pump jar at Walmart. It seems to help a lot.

I use both the cream and lotion in CeraVe. My derm. told me to use it as it is his preferred brand. I like the lotion better as it is not so heavy. But in winter, the cream seems to work better.

I'm looking for one that's non-greasy and doesn't leave a film on my skin.

I used to love Aveeno, it really worked, then they changed something. The only way I can describe it, it's like a dry slime.

@tucsongal LOVE the Gold Bond CoQ 10. Haven't used it in awhile, but I may pick some up. I remember it having a nice consistency, being really effective and also having a mild and very pleasant scent.
