My 19 year old son was scheduled to work today from 1:30 until 10:30 tonight, then scheduled to work Saturday morning at 5:30 am until 2:30 pm. I knew he was going to be tired when he got home tonight and was concerned that with the little bit of sleep he'd get, tomorrow would be worse for him.

We packed him some sandwiches/soup, etc for him to take in to eat during his breaks. We got a call around 7:00 this evening to let us know he was getting off work at 7:30 pm. My husband went in to pick him up and stop off at the grocery store for some things we needed. My son said that his supervisor saw him and she made a mistake giving him the hours that she did and allowed him to leave 3 hours earlier.

He told us that the store had Subway and Jimmy Johns (a new sandwich place that just opened in our area) deliver food for all of the employees, along with some desserts.

So many times, we read of all of the negative things that occur and I just wanted to post something positive about a department store that is doing good for their employees and trying to do right by them during this busy shopping time of the year. I certainly appreciate what my son's supervisor did for him and he does too since he'll be able to get more sleep tonight.
