Just got notified that my Plan D health plan is changing a couple of my medications to a different tier next year. What I currently pay $7 for will cost $47 next year. Crazy!

I've heard about GoodRx. Has anyone used it? Does the pharmacy have to accept the GoodRx coupon? I asked my pharmacist about it yesterday, and they said that their prices are usually cheaper than GoodRx's (which is not true). I can get a three month supply from GoodRx for less than the cost of a one-month supply at my pharmacy. They also said that the GoodRx price is just a "suggested" price and that they are not required to accept it.

Anyone use this system successfully?

I used it not long ago for Retin A and the discount was major. Like 60% discount. CVS happily accepted the coupon with not issues.

The problem is that we just went down to our Dept. of Aging and to the senior care specialist. We brought in all our prescription, medical bills, etc. from last year. They enter it into a computer, and this plan popped out as being the best plan for us. Our premium did go down $10 a month, and we also now have benefits for one dental exam, x-rays, and one dental cleaning a year. I'm hoping GoodRx can help! Thanks for your input.

I take NP Thyroid which is not FDA approved so my Cigna Ins stopped covering it. Ridiculous. I was paying $20 for a 3 month supply.

I just started using a Good Rx coupon to purchase at Wal-mart. The first order I bought a 6 month supply was around $93. I just picked up my second order & it was $102. They did not know why there was an increase.

You need to go to Good Rx site & enter the prescription info to see price. Keep entering different quantities to see which has the best price. It lists the different pharmacies & their prices.

I'm pretty sure they would only let me get a 6 month supply. It was cheaper then 1 yr supply. At least I don't have to pick it up once per month which does not work for me.

I now have about an 11 month supply. I don't have to worry about it. I keep filling the script every 5 mos to keep my supply up.

Another good one to use is Blinc Health for prescriptions. Check your RX prices there. CVS has always honored mine and SO much cheaper than my regular insurance part D.I still use Part D for some other meds as they are sometimes free. You have to do your research.

@Yardlie...yes it is, that was the closest Meijer store but I did learn that my local CVS might fill it for the same price....when I am close to needing a refill I will check locally. I was under the impression that I could only use the coupon from Good RX at the locations on their coupon but CVS game me the impression I could use it with them...hope so!

If you decide to use their coupon and it lists a pharmacy that you don't want to use or is not convenient you could at least try to see if a local chain pharmacy will honor the coupon.
