I hate to see someone start a thread and it just sits there. Is your DH a pilot? Please post some details about the plane departing Phoenix flying in the direction of the east coast.

Thank you, but it’s okay if nobody is interested. Yes, DH is a pilot. He is based in LAX. His trip originated today from Orange County and went to Phoenix. From there an all nighter to Boston.

He always gives me his flight numbers in case I want to watch.

No, he won’t be home tonight. He just left home this morning. He will be back Sunday.

He will layover over in Boston tomorrow and be off to Charlotte NC and from there I don’t remember. I do recall he has three legs tomorrow.

I love FlightAware. It gives all the details of a flight and you can watch it in real time. Safe travels to your DH. Does he work for American? Just wondered because of the stops he is making.

Why is this TMI? This is a website that is not company only and can be used by anyone. It is not his officially dialed in flight path, it’s watching his flight via satellite.

No security issues.

Unless you you meant something else...

Just out of high school I applied to the airlines...I wanted to be a stewardess....I got the standard letter, it was code for I was to heavy! I was 5.5 and probably 130 lbs........ I love the atmosphere of an airline and was so disappointed in the rejection. @BirdieGal Safe flight for you hubby!

Thats ridiculous! They don’t have that restriction (at least at AA) anymore. It’s probably a union thing. Now they are all shapes and sizes and genders.

@BirdieGal...this was in the early 70's...when it was fun to fly....you got dressed up, and flying was not the pain it is today.

I also wanted to enlist in the Peace Crop.....no college degree, so they wouldn't take me either, ha!

Yes, back in the day to be a flight attendant the requirement was weight proportionate to height. And not overweight. Also at least 2 yrs of college (this was in the days of "Jr.Colleges"

It was a glamour job back then. "Coffee, Tea or Me?"

My Dad was a pilot. But by the time I came around, he only flew for pleasure. Some of my fondest memories was my Dad "dive bombing the house". My Mom would finally come out and wave to us. One time I thought my Aunt was going to have a heart attack. But as kids everything was fun and games,

My Dad best friend was a pilot for TWA (yeah that long ago). He was an International pilot out of Chicago. He lived in Las Vegas and I loved to hear his stories of all the crazy things.

It isn't easy being a pilot today. I enjoy seeing his trip. I wish it were me.
