I got a 9 year old cat from a no kill shelter today. Her owner died a few months ago & since then she has been in the shelter & 2 foster homes where they said she was doing well. I made the mistake of not confining her to 1 room & now she's been under the bed for hours. I was warned that when she was brought in she was grieving, wouldn't eat & had to be hand fed but had since gotten better. They told me to make sure she eats. How can I do that when she's under a queen size bed where I can't reach her? I'm wondering if I made a mistake in picking her but I felt sorry for her. Any suggestions? How long is it okay for her to go without food?
