There were 5 charges, the sentence is about 5 years on each one.

I was explaining to my mom that the defendant might only serve 5 years total if the judge orders concurrent VS consecutive.

She said "Then why even charge him with 5 charges if he might only serve the time for one?".

How does the judge determine which way to sentence? Thanks

Sat, 27 Oct 2012 19:27:09 GMT BaileyandBella 2012-10-27T19:27:09Z https://community.qvc.com/t5/Community-Chat/Consecutive-VS-Concurrent-prison-sentences/m-p/264898#M115394
My mom and I were discussing a case.
