ED line by Ellen Degeneres

Interesting that she is coming out with a line for Babies/ children next... on her show she always says how she does not like children and why she has none.....( always has humorous segments on that showing what children do to get into trouble and make huge messes)

That is just fine that she does not want children, but, why would you put out a line for children if you really do not like children? I just think it is a bit of an oxymoron.

My guess is it has to do with $$$. Market research may have told her that there is money to be made selling products that are for children. You dont have to like children to want to make $$ selling products designed for them.

I don't like kids but that didn't stop me from coaching my dd soccer team for 8 years and now my illustrations for childrens bedrooms sell like hot cakes. So go figure

@game-on would you open a seafood restaurant if you did not like seafood? Or a bakery if you never ate desert? I just think it is odd.

If Ellen ever said that she does not like children, you must have misinterpreted her, perhaps it was part of a joke. Ellen has shown many, many times that she loves children! She has them on her show and social media accounts regularly, and shows them major love. She adores her nieces and nephews. What she did say was that she did not want to have any of her own, which of course is a personal choice. That's wildly different than saying someone does not like children.

@SeaMaiden....if I thought something might make me $$ I might hire someone to open a restaurant or bakery.... if I didnt like the food.... I think Ellen goes in many different directions... and I believe she might be a very wealthy woman...

She doesn't have children. I've never heard her say she doesn't like them. She has them on her show frequently.

However she feels about children, she can certainly put her name on a children's line. I don't think she actually designs the line. She might have input.

I guess I just don't think about these sorts of things. LOL

I agree. I never wanted children of my own. I don't get all gushy with babies, but that doesn't mean I dislike kids.

I bought her jar candles last year that were very nice and the price was discounted. I wonder how many homes she owns and decorates. Her taste is expensive as I have seen pictures of the inside of one of her homes.

She's all about the money. Just one of the reasons I won't purchase any of her products.

I may be alone in this, but I do pay attention to what celebrities do and say when they are OFF the selling camera. It sure has saved me a LOT of money, let me tell ya.

Agree.........I won't purchase any of her products either, just like I won't purchase lots of things QVC offers because of the vendors. That goes for a lot of celebrities, too. My choice......

I've read many articles where she's described as "neurotic" and she's very mean to her staff. Doesn't she have enough money? Give someone else a chance to sell products on QVC. She also buys homes for multi-millions of $$$$, fixes them up - and sells them within a year or two and makes more millions. She's rich enough.

I don't think it's odd at all. If your area needs a seafood restaurant and you want to open a business, that's what you do. You're in it to make MONEY, not eat the seafood. I don't think your argument makes any sense.

So if you are successful and make wise business choices you are required to stop because you are TOO successful?

Hmmm. That's not the American entrepreneurial philosophy I learned about.

I haven't heard a word about her running her businesses into the ground or of cheating people or of lying about her accomplishments. I'd say she is the embodiment of the American Dream

@shoppersince1989 I've only seen Ellen in Cover Girl commercials. I think it was Portia who was linked at one time to L'Oreal.
