My Echo Is Going Crazy!

I'm watching ITKWD, and they are selling the new Echo Show. My Echo has suddenly started reading newspaper headlines and asking me what I want! Hahahaha!

You can change the echo name from Alexa to some other choice in the app's settings. I did so it will not turn on each the tv said Alexa.

@Lali1 Yes, my DH always does that too! I noticed she often comes on during Jeopardy as well. I heard that a recent episode of South Park got all the Echos going too. I wasn't awake for that.

Ours has a mind of her own during the night. I have seen her lights flashing around on the walls in the bedroom at least twice during the night when I woke up.

I won't say what DH wants to name her. LOL!!!

Whenever she hears her name, whether from me or my TV, she's trying to answer!!! I usually lower the volume on the TV when Echo-type products are presented. It's actually quite amusing sometimes!!!

Years ago, I used to have the Beavis and Butthead t.v. talkers. This was a fun little toy that would sit on top of your t.v., and whenever you would use the remote, Beavis or Butthead would respond with one of their signature phrases. The only problem was that it didn't just respond to the remote. In the dead of night I would roll over, only to be startled awake by Beavis yelling, "I am Cornholio!!!!"

I wish I still had that thing.

@Lali1 Yes that's it. LOL!!! He gets mad when she does not answer him. He keeps calling her Alexis instead of Alexa.

I was introduced to an Alexa recently while visiting friends in Colorado. Whenever I asked to have something done I always said thank you when it complied. My granddaughter decided to give it a try so she said something that was not nice, thinking she was being funny, and Alexa responded with, "That is not a very nice thing to say", blew my mind.

My son and I were watching that episode and I ended up with some funny stuff on my Alexa list. LOL
