Yes, she was in Texas. She was a realtor. She disappeared on the morning of the hurricane. That made everything very difficult from the search, investigation, the getting out the word, etc. She was quite the beauty and seems very well liked.

It was soooo obvious that it was the ex-husband. Don't these MEN learn --- GET a DIVORCE!!!!! Can't believe men are so jealous, mean, controlling -- and murderers. What a beautiful, successful, happy woman----now her 2 children are orphans. Do these murderers think they're going to get away with it?????

So sorry to learn this. Like so many others, I figured the husband caused her "disappearance." He thought he could use Hurricane Harvey as a cover for her going missing.

They were divorced. It has been reported the ex never told his family. That says a lot. Plus she was staying with him while her place was going through renovations so he could keep up the facade. I saw this on Ashleigh Banfield FB page. Disclaimer, I am just repeating what others have said.

I wish they'd do more follow-ups on things like this. So often we hear about this and never hear another word.

I do have to say that while I'm very happy to get an update on this I still think about other women who are missing and we never hear about them. I'm talking about African American women, Hispanic and so on.

Their families miss and love them too. Yet you don't see much about them going missing.

It is disconcerting that the most attractive people get the attention. I don't necessarily think it is about skin color just who is pretty. Lacey Peterson was Hispanic and she got a lot of media.

That statement seems so condescending and inappropriate to me. ALL

families would be affected if a loved one were missing.

Sad you feel the need to make this about race. The reason we all heard about Ms. McDowall being missing was due to it happening in a city that was devastated by a natural disaster, AKA Hurricane Harvey. If not for that, she would have stayed local news.

I have been following it on The Ashliegh Banfield Show. My first thought was that the ex-husband did it, but early on police said he was cooperating with them, so it sounded like maybe he wasn't a suspect....He looks kind of creepy in the mugshot online. Now the two small children are parentless. Such a shame!

@SilleeMee Crystal had a new boyfriend and the ex didn't want anyone else to have her.

It's terrifying that some men still consider the wives/gf/ex's/etc. as their personal property.

@Nancy Drew Not that it really matters at this point but I believe her mother was not Hispanic. Her mother's maiden name is Anderson.

Regardless her story hit the media because of the pregnancy and the time of year especially.
