One thing that I saw to do on my facebook page was to put all of your important papers and photos and such inside your dishwasher and lock the door.

Dishwashers are water tight, and supposedly, your stuff will be safe in there.

I honestly don't know if this would actually work or not, but it's been making the rounds on fb as one thing to do.

Another trick I heard of is putting important papers in your dish washer

as it is water tight .. although at 150 mph. ....who knows ...

We fill a small water bottle half full, put into freezer on its side and let it freeze. Then stand the bottle up, if the power goes off, the water will be in the bottom of the bottle. This is good to do when you've been gone on vacation, and wouldn't know if you'd lost power, and food had thawed and refrozen.

Especially at 105 mph. winds .. just make sure your insurance is paid up...

Right now we are trying to decide to cut the screen on our screen cage as

it helps the wind go through.. without taking the whole cage with it .. which

I have seen ...but as I said at 100 mph or more ..I don't think anything will

help....

Several years ago we made copies of every important document we had, bundled them up and secured the box with lots of tape and gave it to my SIL in another state. We are not in a state prone to hurricanes but have experienced earthquakes, flooding and forest fires.
