topic What Type Of Popcorn Popper AND Brand Of Popcorn Do You Use? in Community Chat

Popcorn poppers sure have evolved. I remember bringing one to college--the type that had a "hot plate," aluminum pot, and a glass lid. We also heated up canned food in it. They were versatile, and anyone who had one in the dorm was very popular lol.

Now, we have the Stir-Crazy popper and love it. As long as the plastic top is removed, the popcorn's not soggy. We used to have an air popper, too, and I'm sorry I got rid of it years ago because the ones I've seen today look a lot smaller, and cheaply-made.

There's a reason I asked about the popcorn, too. We'd always used OR's gourmet popcorn (larger kernels), but lately I've noticed a lot of hulls left in the bottom and sides of the tub into which we dump the popped popcorn. DH said they looked like ladybugs from a distance. So I've switched to Wegmans brand, and voila! No more hulls. I just had to adjust the amount used. I noticed they still make Jolly Time (remember the Jolly Time with colored kernels?) I might try that again, too, as a blast from the past, but we like the Wegmans
