Can not wait until it is over and done. Actually sick of hearing about it. Lets see what news will be focused on after the eclipse is done...... maybe someing newsworthy??

Im sick of hearing about it too @SeaMaiden. Seems like we've had other "once in a lifetime" events that I can recall as being less than memorable. It's cloudy and drizzly here today of all days and probably couldn't see anything anyway.

I do think it's newsworthy but people have about lost their minds over this.

Even our local newscasters are now joking about how much they have to talk about it. Yesterday they were jokingly asking if they've mentioned the eclipse yet and one said "there's an eclipse? I've not heard about it."

I see today that a few news channels are going to be broadcasting for like 2 hours during the time of the eclipse. LOL Talk about overkill. I also saw on GMA this morning the lines of traffic getting into some of the areas that are prime viewing.

And despite all the warnings, I'm betting the ERs are going to be full this afternoon with people who hurt their eyes watching this.

Here in Missouri it's taken over the news, parks,boats and planes ! I understand the St. Louis lambert airport car rental companies are sold out, there are lots of watch parties in the parks, homes and at the Arch. The news has been interviewing people from all over the country and some from other countries as well. I am not going out, will be inside babysitting my grandson. I will watch on TV at time of eclipse. The TV weatherman is playing a song about barking at the moon ! All day event here in St. Louis

I think it is interesting, but I agree that people are acting obsessed over it. A friend of mine actually drove 10 hours away last night to be in the path of totality. I will watch on tv and look out my window if I remember, but it is not the focus of my day and I certainly would not travel to be in the crowds going crazy over it!!

For an event that will last about 3 minutes and at most a couple of hours, it is overkill. I wonder how many people will say when it's over: "Is that all there is??""

Peak time in my neck of the woods is 2:45 to 3:00. I had an appointment at 3:00...got a call earlier, right about the time their office opens, asking if I could come in at 3:45 instead. Hmmmm, folks in that office must want to step outside and experience it.

I too am sick of hearing about it. I'll watch it on tv or internet when I get home from my water aerobics class. It starts about 9:15 here. I agree it's a neat thing but the news people are beyond ridiculous.

I think it is great and it is a long time coming.

What I find annoying is when there is a snowstorm or heavy rain. Constant live coverage, disrupting regular programing so each reporter can say, yes the ruler says 5 inches, what about you Bob? Bob takes a ruler and measures 6 nches.

Yes, that goes on for hours - and I can see it is snowing.

I think its neat, but I am not in the mood to drive to see it. I'll just watch it on tv.

And this morning on my local news, they interviewed a scientist who said some of the glasses that say ISO certified or whatever it is that means they are safe, are not actually safe, and if people used those, they are taking a big risk in damaging their retinas.

So, how the heck is one suppose to know if these glasses are safe or not? I don't have any of said glasses by the way. I just hope no body gets damage to their eyes.

I am sure glad they are going "overboard" about something exciting like this.
