They say things come in threes....

Last Tuesday's eye doctor appointment told me I have cataracts in both eyes🙁..... today in the mail .......Jury duty letter😩....... wonder what next?🤔

I hear you about the cataracts, though.

Jury duty doesn't bother me.

I've always heard it's only death that comes on threes.

Neither of the 2 you mention sound particularly bad to me. Been the cataract surgery route on both eyes, and have sat on 9 Jury Trials. Loved Jury Duty and would love to do it again.

Only part of surgeries was just the slight annoyance of having to put eye drops in so many times a day for a couple weeks. Wish my 3's, or 2's, would have been so good!

Is the jury summons in Seattle or local, @SeaMaiden? I would dread hauling into Seattle to serve.

Thank goodness @tansy. Is is local this time. If it were in Seattle I would not do it PERIOD😡 and risk going to jail with a warrant out for my arrest for not showing up.

Me too. My dad, his uncle & a cousin all died within 3 weeks of each other.

Last week I broke their things at three different times, all glass throughout the day. A cup, a glass and a temptation pig.

If you don't want to serve on a jury, you can use your cataract surgery as an excuse! I've served on a jury twice--hated it....

I've only heard it's airplane accidents and that was back in the '60s and early '70s when there were a lot more plane crashes than there are today..

Oh my gosh! Does it ever!

DH had his Harley jump out from under him when he was going to put it up. He was thrown 5 ft. onto the black top, borke two ribs, punctured a lung, and dislocated an arm.

While I was taking care of him up stairs, I lost one of my closest friends in the ICU 3 floors down. Another close friend almost bled to death from a stomach ulcer in the ICU in their campus acrosse the street, and a week after I got DH home, our fue baby of almost 15 years was bloating and had to go three hours away for emergency surgery. He had a hole in his small intestines which they sectioned, removed, and patched.

They are both home and functioning, but DH not quite healed.

All of that in two weeks! I about lost my mind!

There seems to be some superstition about death coming in threes that goes way back. A mystification about three. You can google "Death comes in threes" and get a lot of hits on it.

I'd never heard this before, but I see two references to it being biblical, also. NT or OT, I don't know.
