I don't think Qvc's shipping charges are hight at all and the sales taxes are what they are. That's not Qvc's doing. $3 for clothing, $5 for shoes. I think that's pretty amazing but I must say, I refuse to pay $11.22 to get a handbag. That does seem excessive to me and it's why I haven't bought a handbag from Qvc in 2 years...I just can't do it. Shipping is often outrageously high when you shop online. I remember last summer, I saw a top that I loved and wanted...badly. The top was $49 and the shipping was almost $20...not even expedited. I couldn't get off that site fast enough...lol I shop a lot and 90% of it is with Qvc, Amazon Prime and Evine.

I recently got a new Blu-Ray player. One thing I knew I wanted, the next time they had a sale, was two Anne of Green Gables DVDs. Sullivan Ent, the parent company, keeps strict control of where you can order the remastered/upsourced DVDs from, namely pretty much only them in order to shop all choices. Yes I can buy from Amazon, but they aren't selling the versions I want.

So today it's 15% off. LOL. My "savings" was $6 and some cents. Canadian tax is 13% and s&h cheapest UPS is about $16.60 (for two DVDs!).

Yes, I bought the DVDs because I wanted them, not whining about that. But here I thought my state's 9.75% tax was high, and people complain about $5.50-$10 QVC shipping.

It's a good thing this was pretty much a one-shot deal for me - won't be buying any more from them because there isn't anything else they sell (many shows, many versions) I can't do without. But if I might want more, I wouldn't do it because of the tariff and s&h.

I buy from other sites where I wait for a free s&h deal because the s&h is routinely $13-18 with every order. So in that light, QVC's not so bad. And I don't get these packages any faster than QVC either - sometimes longer than QVC even though the s&h is double.

I'm not saying QVC s&h is great, and I never like waiting 10-14 days for anything, but they aren't the worst either.

I don't mind the taxes, but I'm still waiting for free s&h and returns on everything from the Q. I would rather not be able to return merchandise that has been used for 30 days, who does that anyway!

No obviously used or defective goods should be sent out, ever. Repackaging by QVC should include 90% of all original materials.

If QVC did this, I'd be fine with getting returned mdse. But they don't do it, and probably won't ever do it.

I think free returns and free back-and-forth shipping should be standard for any sizing issue. For example - if I order a size 14 pair of pants, and they're too large so I exchange them for a 12 and the 12 is too small, I should be able to send both pair of pants back at no cost except for original shipping on the first pair - because I'm not returning them because I don't like them, but they just don't fit my body, no matter which size. I do that with both clothes and shoes in b&m stores - if neither size fits I don't buy. It's not my "fault" they don't fit.

I think, that they dont combine shipping, is my biggest gripe. The usual $ 5.50, isnt in itself so outrageous, but,.. when you buy multiples of some same items..that S&H adds up QUICK.. esp, when you get sent all the items, in one box.. this irks me, when I find a good deal, and I buy in multiples for my daughters.. I pay $20 + over, in SH alone, on some things, that weigh a few oz's a piece... ( Im a Prime baby tho.. so.. yea lol )
