New-ish Car

I finally pulled the trigger and traded in my 2005 Camry with 270,000 miles, never been in the shop except for maintenance. I had been looking for a fairly new, used Rav4 and found a couple at various dealerships but I wanted to buy from Toyota.

Got a call Friday morning from the Toyota dealership, we have a sweet one for you and they did. 2015, 30,000 miles, local trade in. This will probably be the last car I ever buy.

But this is not why I'm posting. I found this interesting. When I bought the Camry, it was financed through CifiFinancial, which was purchased by another company with an umbrella of different finance companies, I started making payments to Santander.

During the course of doing all the paperwork, the dealership saw that the state was still showing a lien on the title in the name of CitiFinancial. Pretty hard to do when I have the original title in my hand, mailed to me by Santander 2 years ago. Dealership said it's not a problem since I handed over the original title and a POA for them to handle the transfer.

Except for that little eye-opener, everything went well.

I just gave my little sister $2,000 to buy a car. She bought a beautiful car for $2,000. It's a 2002 Ford Explorer with 113,000 miles on it. Top notch maintenance on it. Not a scratch or dent.

I love that she was able to find this car. She's so happy and I'm happy I made her happy! Ha!

In the world today it's hard to get around without some kind of car. Out where I live they don't have a regular bus service, just one that goes down the main roads.

Great find - so happy for you. No wonder you stuck with Toyota.

I have a 2003 Honda CRV with only 60,000 miles on it - had a bit of work on it over the years but all in all - a great car. Just hope it holds up for another 60,000!

Toyota Rav4's are nice. I know someone with a very old model and someone with a new one. Dependability is important.

Looking to get a new car with all the safety features. Seems the price tag is way out there. We have a 2007 Camry and a 2012 Prius. The more I look I figure I will just keep what I have. Love Toyotas.

Congrats! I'm waiting on a red or black 2017 Camry XLE to come in now that the 2018s are rolling out.

I am on my second RAV4. I had my first one 7 years and next March will be three years for my current one.

You will love it and it will last for years. I wanted a Rav4 because I do a lot of driving on the interstate and it's difficult driving along side 18 wheelers, especially in the rain. I always felt I was riding on the ground, with the truck tires in my face. The Rav4 rides a bit higher, plus now in my old age, I don't have to bend over a trunk. I love the waist-high cargo area.
