You cannot use it to renew your membership -- but it is not for brand new members only. It can be used if your prior memberhsip expired before April 1, 2017. I rejoined using this Groupon last week. It is a great deal.

I'm confused. I went to Groupon to see their Costco offer, and found only one live one, for "$155 off Gold Membership Package with $20 card," etc.

I went to Cosco and the the Gold Star Membership for new members is listed as $60.

When I click on the "See Groupon" button on the promotion page on Groupon, I get an HTTP 500 exception report.

Am I missing something here, or could I actually be $115 ahead by buying a membership? ($155 + $20 - the $60 membership cost)

I just signed up for my first Costco membership using this deal! I live a small condo, but there many items that I can purchase at Costco, even if I don't have much storage space! I am looking forward to receiving my coupon and gift card!

Nevermind my prior post. I found the right page. I don't know why I got that squirrelly stuff.

This does look like a good deal. Extras include a dozen rolls of paper towels and a free pizza. Works for me!

The offer expires November 1. I'll be in the vicinity of my nearest Cosco at the end of September, so I'll buy the membership next month.

Thanks for posting this. I might try Costco out. The groupon promo comes with two cards, and a few other perks. Probably won't use some of them, but I think it might be fun to try Costco, and this is certainly a nice incentive.

I'm not a member. Is it still worth it for people who don't buy in bulk and who don't even have the storage for bulk goods? What does everyone think?

It depends on the products you like and use, and you probably won't know until you go there. They have terrific produce and meats and prepared foods, that, depending on your household, could be a week's or a month's supply. Same with beauty/health products, snacks, beverages, vitamins and supplements, etc. You can also share a membership with friends.

The savings is largely on bulk purchases, yes. Just because that's what they mostly sell. You might be able to take advantage in certain categories though..."bulk" means different things. But if you share a membership, every time you go, you have to pay for your purchases that day (just like at the supermarket!) So there's no way you'd ever be held responsible for anyone else's purchases. I am in a household of 2 people, and we save tons. We do have pantry and freezer and storage space to make it work, though. We save enough on paper towels and organic bacon in a year to pay for our membership, but we go through a lot of those So the savings on everything else is just gravy!

I've been a member of Costco for 22 yrs and only shop for myself. I go there around every 6 weeks --- since it's 12 minutes from my home. I have also bought lots of items from their website, which appears on my computer daily.

Last week I bought a 24" Samsung tv for $135.for my bedroom. on-line

2-1/2 yrs ago, I bought a 40" Samsung tv for my family room for $300. on-line

All their big and small appliances come with a 2-yr warranty------and for many of the electronic products, they offer Fair Trade Warranty for an add'l 3 yrs - for a few dollars.

Every few weeks, their sale items come up on my computer and I order many of them, ie, 4 pack of toothpaste, anti-fatigue mat for my kitchen, Puma or Addidas socks, bags of coffee beans, 3/4 sleeve t-shirts, etc.

If u know someone who is also interested, they give 2 cards - and u could split the cost.

Just using those great coupons --- u save much more than the membership fee.

They have the best rotisserie chickens - being made on the premises - only $5.

Also great pharmacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easiest return policy

etc.

Most with free shipping - and quick arrival.

Every month, I receive their booklet of great coupons

Thanks for the info, just signed up. I went there to get my membership card and picture taken.

The $20.00 gift card, flavored water, papertowel and pizza coupons are mailed and should arrive in 4-6 weeks per member services. What a great deal

It's my first time in a costco and it's a huge store with good prices!!

I don't think everything at Costco is that bulky that it requires lots of storage space. If you're limited you just have to choose wisely. I think a membership is worth the price just for electronics items. They have extended warranties and concierge help service.

It's also worth it for the food court, and some good clothing items. It's just a great place to shop. Yes there are lines and it can be crazy busy. But the people who work there are treated well, so they treat the customers well.

I get Groupon emails and today they had a discount code. I don't know if it can be applied to the Costco membership.

You get 2 cards but the other person needs to live with you. Last year after my husband passed away I wanted to transfer his membership to my son but since my son doesn't live with me they wouldn't do it.

I have used their discount codes for a Sam's Club membership in the past. Hopefully the discount code would be applied for a Costco membership also.
