I kept seeing my cats sitting on or near the vents where the cool air from the AC comes out. I couldn't figure out why they were doing this......until I went & stood by where they were laying. My kitties liked the cool air blowing in their faces

When the traffic disappears.

Went out 3 times today in 108 degree heat. The last time during evening commute. Hardly any traffic all day.

@ sfnative, iin today's news, it was a headliner that it reached 107.4 in Death Valley.....whoo! I would be afraid to be out in that kind of heat. Are there many reports of roads buckling or flight delays? (Commercial planes have to reduce the weight they carry because hot air increases the drag: it's difficult for them to take off).

@CalminHeart, here in Florida, my cold water comes out warm...our swimming pool is not exactly refreshing: it's like swimming in a bath tub.

I have not had to water plants this summer because of rain, but a couple of summers ago, I burned myself on the water coming out of the hose!

@Poodlepet2So THAT'S what's going on! I noticed the birds on the road didn't take off as high or as fast as they usually do when it's hot. I try to give them a little extra time to get out of the way when its' hot as I hate picking bitty birdie corpses out of the car grill.
