Sales Tax Free Weekend

I'm aware that some states have a sales tax free weekend on certain categories of items to help people with back-to-school purchases.

Clothing is usually one of the categories that is sales tax free. So that's just a reminder to those of you who have a sales tax free weekend in your state, and a wish list you keep here on QVC, to perhaps buy some things on your wish list during tax free weekend. These weekends are usually in August so you might check for the dates of yours in your state.

Thanks for the reminder. I am in Maryland and have not checked for a long time so if there is someone who knows please post.

Also I live on the PA and the VA and WV line. I do believe PA is tax free... period.. but not sure anymore. Any help would be appreciated. I can walk into outlet stores within 30 or so minutes of my house in any directions. Got to be some perks for being rural, on a small mountain and on borders. I will say great historical sites around here.

Yes, in Ohio it's this coming Fri, Sat, Sun. Clothing $75 or less, or school supplies $20 or less is tax free. I do believe clothing has always been tax free in PA (that's why we cross the border to that outlet mall over there!).

PA - clothing is tax free all the time. Except leather jackets, etc. that are more luxury apparel.

NC discontinued their tax free weekends a couple of years ago. That act has been a boon to neighboring GA, SC and TN.

Last year some local stores fought back by absorbing the sales tax on qualified sales. Worked out well for them according to reports.

Not only interesting Pearley, a good business move--losing 7% of sales versus losing 100% due to lost sales.
