Hoping President Jimmy Carter is OK

Just heard former President Carter collapsed in Winnipeg at a Habitat event. Prayers that it is not serious and he will have quick recovery...

Edited to correct spelling of Winnipeg-- With all my Canuck background, I should know better.

I'm sorry to hear this. Jimmy Carter is such a good man, he has done so much for others, he does not just talk the talk, he walks the walk.

@Oznell.....thanks for letting us know.... I believe he is a good man.... he is also an old man who may need to curtail his activities.... especially in the heat. Sometimes we have to change our activities when we age.... I know my body tells me how far I can go.... and when I dont listen I suffer consequences.... and I am a few years younger than he is.

Born and raised in GEORGIA and he and Carl Sanders were the best governors we ever had.

Praying for President Carter. He is a good man and I hope he feels better soon.

I have always loved this man for all he has done for Habitat. At his age I think he needs to slow down just a tad.

He made a light-hearted comment about the others stayiing hydrated, so hopefully he's not in any kind of bad way, although hospitalized.

All former presidents' health can be a worry as they get up there. I was glad when George H. W. Bush gave up skydiving, at around age 90, I believe! These men are living repositories of history, and more are living into their 90's than ever before...

From what I read he was actually helping build the house - not just attending the event - at 92! He's a pretty amazing man! Maybe he could sit and shout orders at the other workers for awhile while under a tent.

He really lives every moment of his life fully....and probably over does it a bit. Maybe he needs to slow down and smell the roses.... a walk up call to RELAX.

Thank you Oznell for briefing us concerning former President Carter. I had just ...stepped in... trying to reply and catch up from last month.

You are always so very kind to think of so many, then pass news on. What a fine lady you are.

My father admired President Carter in his earlier days, mainly because he had that genuine REAL smile. He appears to remain as the same genuine great man that I had heard about from a young girl. My prayers reach gently as well as strong for his recovery. Dad would be so proud that I posted that.

My father was so insightful when it came to knowing about different people.

We ( my father's family -3- generations had/ have one of the largest apple and peach orchards in our state.

I am preparing, soon, to be in progress donating at least 33 acres to one of the better known animal rescues to build another NO-KILL animal shelter.

My father would definitely approve. I live in another state. I believe the land would serve its worth, now, better since dad is no longer in charge. Thank you, again~

Jimmy Carter has become a national treasure for reasons that have nothing to do with the office he once held. He's that rare human being - a good man, in all senses of the word. He is moved to do what he does from the heart, and for no other reason. He lives his conscience and his ethics. I hope he's here many more years.

@shell garden I am a Georgia Peach, too. Born and raised here as well. I have to add Zell Miller to the "great governors" list. He was in office when I started my teaching career. His raises for teachers helped me out so much...my dad called him "Uncle Zell." He would say, "I see Uncle Zell is giving you a __% raise for next year!

Prayers for President Carter! He is a true inspiration!
