I Wore a Dress Today

For almost 5 years, I haven't liked the looks of my legs. I have some veins that are near my ankles, so I've always worn long pants lately. I posted in Beauty a few weeks ago and took their recommendation for leg make-up. It's had a bigger impact on my life than I expected. I have more confidence about what I wear and have more freedom in my clothes choices. I appreciate and value the positive advice.

It's great to have choices, enjoy your dresses.

I wear dresses all summer myself.

@Desert Lily, so glad that you tried the leg makeup and that you wore your dress. I love dresses in the summer as they are not hot like any type of pants. It is wonderful to feel that you look your best and to just enjoy yourself.

Thats lovely! More even than the cosmetic boost, it's the mental boost it gives! I am glad for you!

I have not worn dresses either for ages. And there are now such pretty ones out! My legs are very, very white and have many blemishes. Also, self-tanners all make me itch and break out.

What leg makeup do you purchase? Does it smear or run when you get warm?

I don't know which leg makeup Desert Lily used, but I have recommended Sally Hansen leg makeup on this board several times. The tube packaging is much easier to use and less messy than the spray version. I apply the lightest shade mixed with my body lotion. It doesn't run, smear, transfer, or sweat off.

You might want to try some self tanner on your legs too. I like the Jergens Foam one. With tanner my leg veins and all that ugly stuff just seem to disappear or at least be minimized. You go girl and rock that dress. So many pretty one's this summer it would be a shame to avoid them because of leg issues that can easily be fixed.

Yes, I mix it with my body lotion. I put a dollop of each in the palm of my hand and mix it together a bit before putting on my legs. I find that it applies more evenly and smoothly that way. After I apply I put on a robe and go about finishing my morning routine. By the time I dress it is completely set. I have never had it rub off on my clothes. I guess if someone was wearing something really tight on the bottom it might, but it has never transferred to my skirts, dresses, or shorts.
