topic rude or ok to say something to neighbor? in Community Chat

Is it rude if I emailed my neighbor and told her that her cats go into our front yard landscape bed which has mulch in it, and poop? The problem after the pooping has me the most annoyed, they tend to poop toward the edge of the bed, where the dividers are between mulch and grass. And then they scrape the mulch out of place to cover the poop.

When they do this, it causes a fair amt of mulch to be moved out on to the grass, out of where it's supposed to be. I am the one who then goes out and moves it back into the bed area.

I have to say this has only happened a few times so far but the cats are still young, like 8 mos old.

Should I just grin and bear it or email her a quick line. Which I fear will get her irritated because now how will she solve this problem? She can't possibly solve this problem sans keeping the 2 cats inside, which she WON'T want to do.

Grrr..
