Reed diffusers

I have tried numerous brands over the years and I find that Yankee fragrances seem to have the most staying power.

I think Woodwick candles makes frangrances too, and I've bought some of the holiday frangrances. Woodwick used to be called something else -- Virginia Candles? I don't like the candles, but I do use some of their diffuser scents.

It takes a bit of time for the scent to travel, and it does not have the throw that a candle does. But, I know the scent does travel. When I return home after being gone for a few hours, I can smell it better than when I am home all the time.

And, the other night, my DH was sitting on the porch and told me he smelled the scent when I opened the door.

One or 2 containers won't do much, so I keep several throughout the house using some small Tracy Porter vases I bought many years ago.

Keep a little coaster or something under that vase because the oil will damage a wood finish.

I buy my own reeds and just buy the Yankee refills (mostly on sale).

I enjoy making my own w/ bamboo skewers and essential oils....tiny vases from antique shops or yard sales.

Meant to add that I buy my reeds from reed diffusers dot com.

You can buy them in larger quantities.

They also have just about every scent you can imagine.

Their citrus and holiday scents are nice, but mostly I use Yankee.

I've always used Woodwick or Yankee candle brands. However, I haven't seen reed diffusers in many years.

Pier One's SeaAir is long lasting and very pleasant. Pink Champagne is fantastic, but it sells out quickly when it first comes out in the spring.

@goldensrbest, I had the same problem with reed diffusers. A better choice is to buy an electric diffuser where you add water and essential oils. I recently purchased one for $19.99 and it changes colors if you want it to and there is an automatic shut off too. I love it. You do not hear any noise at all.

I LOVE the ones from Pottery Barn.

I have tried Joy's - they were TERRIBLE!!!

I would rather pay more and get a quality product.

I absolutely love Casa di Francesa which used to be sold on HSN by Katie Borghese. I now order them from her website.

Of the scents I have tried at Reed Diffusers dot com, the scents do last.

However, keep in mind it takes a while for the scent to make it's way UP the reed and to get into the air.

I have found it takes a few days for the scent to become evident. If you are looking for a "whole house" scent solution, this might not work for you.

Within the room, the scent is evident. And, after a few days I catch a slight scent, but it is not a strong throw.

Someone mentioned Pier 1 scents and I have found them nice as well.

I like diffusers because they are no fuss. No soot, no flame, and they are subtle -- nothing to plug in or worry about.

I prefer these as well. I can never smell any reed diffuser I've ever come across more than an inch from the reeds. The mist diffusers scent a room nicely.

I first owned Trapp scented candles, purchased in a beauty supply shop .... then bought a diffuser & oil when it was on sale after Christmas. You can buy the scented votive candles to "test drive" the scent at home before splurging on the oil.

Personally, I like their Orange Vanilla scent best .... it smells like how a Creamsicle would smell .... IF they had a scent, lol.

I've had success with ones I've gotten from Pier One.
