USPS Informed delivery

Is this legit ? Looked legit, asked questions that only I would know, etc.

Suppose to tell you what mail you will be receiving before you get your mail.

I opted for it, then, wondered if it was for real.

It is legit. I ship a lot of stuff from home and have a USPS account. They wanted me to sign up for it a couple of months ago. After I went through all the steps they said "sorry your address is not eligible"

@SharkE Should be all your mail.

Users will have the option of getting an email with photos of the front of card- and letter-size mail pieces that are due to arrive that day, or a day or two later. The email is sent on days when mail is being processed and delivered. It shows up to 10 grayscale images in each email with a link at the bottom to see the rest. Users can also view the images for seven days on their dashboard.

I somehow signed up for this the last time I had our mail held. I get an email every day with an actual picture of some (not all) of the items arriving. Mostly junk mail but shows real stuff too (like bills). It does not include package info, just letter/postcard type mail. I keep thinking I will go unsubscribe but it is kind of nice to see if the mail person is losing things.

as long as hubby doesn't figure it out I throw out half his mail and don't want him to see it or he will send money to all the 'starving children' in the world. LOL Fake come on's.

I may have to opt out, then. Just want to see when I'm getting pkg's.

We've had it for about a month and I love it! Every morning around 7:30 I receive an email telling me what mail we'll be receiving that day.

It's legit. A friend told me about it and I signed us up. Works great.

@SharkE - I did sign up for a My UPS account a year or so ago so I could indicate where I wanted packages delivered. I get emails for anything sent via UPS. One saying it is scheduled, one saying it is on the truck and one saying it is delivered. Since the Q seems to be very random in their delivery method, this might help you for items coming by UPS. Thanks for the unsubscribe link for the informed delivery - still not sure how I signed up for it...

I received an email about this from USPS this morning. Doubt I will sign up. I know all that's coming in the mail for me is junk besides my packages. LOL!!! I receive all my billing electronically.

Our mailman does get off a house as he goes down the street sometimes. If he leaves our mail next door we can no longer take it out of their box because they put up a locking mailbox. He told us if he gets any of our mail he will throw it in the trash.

I signed up for this a few months ago, and I love it! There's some misinformation in some of the posts here, so I recommend that everyone research on their own.

It doesn't show packages but it does show letters, bills, etc. I get an email every day that lets me know what's in my mail. It shows a scan of the front of each mailpiece. You can go on the website to view your mail each day if you'd rather not receive emails.

I think this is really good for people who travel, and need to know if a check or something else of importance has arrived back home. I'm also looking forward to not having to go outside in bad winter weather or pouring rain to check my mail. Now I know every day exactly what's there.

It does show letters, cards, invitations, and other similar correspondence. It just doesn't show packages.

I guess I don't really need this service because I'm always home when my mail is delivered and I love my mailman. He always brings my mail right to my door rather than leaving it in my mailbox. I'm spoiled! Besides packages, 99% of my mail is junk. All of my official business is done online so I never get bills or letters. I get that in my email account which I prefer.

@SharkE Yes. It is legitimate. I gave been getting this for several months. I like knowing what should be in my box.....if it is not there, than I can investigate further. It is like a heads up. I read that they plan in the future to also show packages and such.

I would only be interested in tracking packages, so a nope for me. Most of my packages are trackable via the sender anyway.

One random thing it could be useful for that I can think of is if a bank or CC company was mailing you a new CC, or if you knew a check was being mailed to you. But if they don't show you all of what's coming (letter-sized) it wouldn't be good for that either.
