When purshcasing an item do you read the reviews? If it's something I think I may really want I don't read the reviews. I think it's the opinion of the one that purchased the item and maybe it wouldn't apply to me. I purchased some Diamonique stud earrings and there were complaints about the earrings but I ordered them anyway and I just love them. I guess it just depends on how you feel about the item.

I don't rely on reviews since I know many will post a complaint but many more will not post a good review. I only use reviews to check sizing for clothing or shoes.

I often at least scan the reviews but start with the lowest rating looking to see if there is consistency in the reason for the negative rating. All too often though it sounds more like operator error than product failure.

I also look at reviews and also the questions to see if a question or concern I have has been addressed.

I always read reviews. They may or any not be the deciding factor in whether or not I purchase, but I always consider them. For instance, if several reviews say that assembly is difficult, that is an immediate no for me.

I'm just like @Marp, I go to the lowest ratings first to see if there are legitimate reasons for the low ratings.

If the items have one or two stars because the UPS driver crammed the package in the door, the USPS guy was rude, the dress was wrinkled because of not being in a box or any other ridiculous reason that has zero reasons for the low rating then I read the three star reviews and go from there.

When purchasing clothing or accessories, I want to know about sizing, quality of fabric, color and workmanship. I don't care if you like the host or vendor!

Kitchen items, small appliances, jewelry and gadgets, I've all but given up on trying to read a good review because it seems to be nit picking and throwing one's own personal likes/dislikes into the product instead of how the item works or feels.

I always read reviews, especially the negative ones. They often provide good info re sizing, potential issues etc. I don't feel bound by them, however, if there are many negative reviews usually something is wrong.

Yes, I often rely on the low end reviews to answer my particular concern or question. If others have noted that issue, then it's usually an automatic no-go for me.

I always read the reveiws. And not just on the Q site either. I scan the web for the same product & read the reviews.

I also check out the reviews on YouTube. One video is worth a thousand words.

A review can be a opinion, so I look for similarities. I recently considered buying the Phone Soap item Laurie Granier sells. I think I'm going to pass for now although most of the poor reviews seemed like operator error. I'll stick with my microfiber cloth with a light shot of Windex with ammonia.

I'm not real handy or coordinated. If that many people can't operate it, maybe I can't either. On the other hand, I purchased the Power Perch Shelf, even though the reviews were not very favorable. I could tell the people posting had higher expectations than me. I still use it and like it. I've had it a year.

I look at recent reviews. If there are 5 or 6 reviews that mention the same issue, I likely won't buy.

I'm really glad this subject came up.

Just an hour or so ago, I was checking out reviews for a Fly London shoe

I really like. I noticed only a couple of reviews with a poor average.

My complaint: one of the few reviews was from someone who wanted the shoe

in a size 12 which was not available. No purchase had been

made, but the review was poor.

What I wish: The moderators would cancel reviews that clearly have nothing to do

with evaluating an item purchased and tried out!!!

(contact the "reviewer" and explain why such a comment is not a

REVIEW)

Excellent advice, I once read a poor review on a dress because the woman's husband didn't like it..

I read reviews obsessively. Although never of books. I think so many are petty and cruel. But on the Q site, yes, all the time. I find the majority do make valid points worth considering when evaluating a potential purchase. I read the reviews starting with the ones that give the lowest ratings. And you know what? They often dissuade me from purchasing, which is a good thing! And I haven't returned anything to QVC in years, which is also a good thing. I've been happy with my purchases, clothing included, and I think the reviews have been helpful in determining which products will work for me.

Yes, I read the reviews. I like the ones that are specific, and include relevant info. A review that says, "I love this!!" is absolutely no help at all, and I wonder why people even bother.

I find the reviews on QVC laughable. Too big - too small.Fabulous quality - cheap etc etc.Before I buy I look at them for anything consistantly bad but usually I really take them with a grain of salt.

I do not read the reviews but I do sometimes write them. I like to try an item for myself and if it is defective I know that I can return it at no charge.

I do read reviews before purchasing. But, I check out fabric content, length,

and anything else available if buying clothing.

I really carefully read reviews for shoes, looking for very specific comments

about sizing and comfort.
