88 degrees and I'm outside washing my car and SWEATING!

Holy smokes it's hot and humid out here in Indiana. I went out and washed my car in this heat (yep, I'm cheap, I wash my own car). Doggies are down in my walk-out basement - it's probably 60 degrees down there - humidifier on, two fans running - I'm upstairs - no fans on and hot and heck. Returned outdoor pillows to TJ Maxx, went to Walmart and checked out a new laptop (FYI - HP with Windows 10 under $300!), bought a new stand fan, went to Sam's Club for a couple of items. Wish now I had bought some ice cream! What are you doing in this heat?

Are you complaining or bragging...lol Yes, it's hot but you are out and about. The heat must not bother you very much. It's 88 here and I don't intend to leave my air conditioned house until the sun goes down. And only if hubby really, really, really wants to go out to eat.

I'm in Indiana, too, and it is hot and humid along the Ohio river!! By the time I watered all my plants and flowers, I said to heck with it. Instead I'm staying in doing laundry and exercising in my basement. Got some baby back ribs in the oven and I will finish them off later on the grill....if I can stand the heat!!

I've always washed my car in a bathing suit in the summer! Fall, winter & spring, I go to the local car wash.

My paramour waxes it while I watch through my window inside my cool apt.

During this current heat wave, I am either at the pool and/or cooling off in my AC cooled apt.

Take care out in that heat. It's 91° in Ok & feels like 97°. Hottest day we have had to far. We also have that knock off your head wind which we seem to have a lot.

DH washes our vehicles. Nothing wrong with that. DH does everything around the house that needs to be fixed. He's a great handyman. We hardly ever pay people to do things for us. You know what they say if you want it done right do it yourself.

My ceiling fans are all running plus the AC is on 73°. It's nice & cool in here.

We bought a new Seabreeze fan which is supposed to be delivered today. It's made in Canada. My dad bought a Seabreeze fan when we lived in Canada when I was a baby. We now have that fan & it still works. DH uses it in the garage. It's at least 56 yrs old. We had to wait longer to receive this fan so I hope it works well.

I have 3 different flavors of frozen yogurt in the freezer.

I'm going to go eat a big bowl of watermelon for lunch.

We're having cooler temps lately and, of course, I am LOVING it! It was in the 30s when I got up this morning. It's just over 40 now, up at my house.

Got snow up in the mountains yesterday and overnight. Got a tiny smidge of snow at my house once yesterday so fast I missed it until I saw the icy bits on the deck.

YAY! Glad those who like the heat are getting it but, for once, it's not here. Oh, it's coming back. Over the next few days it will slowly warm up again but lately I'm enjoying having it in the 30s and 40s. Yesterday it got into the 50s.

Off to the gym this morning for my session with my trainer, bright and early.

Off to the vet for nail clipping. Cut 3/4 of the lawn, had to come in and cool down twice, the last time I really pushed it and was worried it might have been an ER trip. Thank goodness I googled what you should do for overheating.

Peel your clothes off, cool down under your arms and between your legs, drink liquids and just settle down. The heat doesn't bother me, it's that darn humidity that takes you off your feet.

I made an icy double protein shake and that seemed to cool me off along with a cool shower.

@Nightowlz - yeah, what's with the winds? Here in Indiana (not today though) we get a lot of wind, like I've never remembered getting before. We have tornados here in Indiana, but not like you do in OK - I don't know if I could live there for that reason - you get the big ones there and lots of them. Have you personally experienced tornados in your area?

I'm enjoying the window and portable ACs that I installed by myself Saturday. The new one is the portable Haier tsv from the Q. Small house, about 1300 square feet and so far I am very happy with how it cools.

Getting some work done and caring for my Mom. The heat bothers me and we have a yearly water restriction or else I might wash the car. It could get up to 96, 98 where I am.

@Greeneyedlady21 - that's funny, I put my AC in my bedroom window Saturday so the dogs and I can stay cool at night - those things are heavy! But they really cool off a small room. I have an A frame and I have a loft, but no attic so my house gets really hot in the summer. I could put a portable AC in my dining room window - but I really don't think it would help much with my high ceilings. In this 90 degree weather, we stay downstairs in my walk-out basement. I have to paint the kitchen down there this week, it will be nice and cool.

This is too big of a coincidence! It's about the same temp here in the deep south.

I went for a bone scan this morning, stopped at TJMaxx to return a denim jacket, stopped at 2 grocery stores (but I DID buy ice cream!) and planned to wash my car when I got home.....

That's not happenin', LOL!

Now, I'm just chillin' instead!

Last week the temps were in the 90's. Today it's 57 degrees with the high getting around 67. We have 50 mph winds and I've propped up my old wooden fence with poles to keep it from blowing over. I have a contractor coming over this afternoon to give me a bid on a vinyl fence. Not happy about spending a couple of thousand $$$ but don't have much choice.

Snow is expected at 8000 ft, so the ski areas should get a few inches. Cold and rainy again tomorrow. It will be nice by the weekend.

We have tornados here in Indiana, but not like you do in OK - I don't know if I could live there for that reason - you get the big ones there and lots of them. Have you personally experienced tornados in your area?

@hoosieroriginal I have lived here for 44 yrs & never seen a tornado. There have been some pretty close but one has never hit our town. It does not bother me. I don't think I would like to live some place like Ca & have to worry about the ground cracking beneath my feet. The weather people here are telling you days in advance to be on the lookout for severe weather. You have time to go to a safe place if you want to be there all day waiting to see if there will be a tornado or not. I never have done that. We don't have a shelter so I would just have to get in the bathtub since the one bathroom is the center most part of our house. I have never had to do that. DH works out at the military base & they say a tornado will not hit it because it's an old burial ground. How true that is I have no idea. We have watched storms buildup on the radar only to split apart when it reaches our area. Strange but it happens a lot.

I MISS washing my car by hand When I moved into a condo, I must have spent at least two weeks trying to find a really good car wash. I found one and they are excellent, but nothing beats a car washed by hand.

I do wax the car by hand twice a year, so I guess that counts for somthing

It's 92 here in PA and since it's finally not raining,we are finishing up our paver side walk. My DH is putting down the sand and laying the pavers.

i just came back from the store where I purchased three buckets of poly sand to push down into the seams of the pavers. They weigh 40 lbs each. There was no help in the store, so I had to lift them into the cart, then lift them again into my car trunk.

Earlier today, I went grocery shopping and weeded and watered my garden.

My doggies are inside sleeping with the AC on.

i love summer and always look forward to enjoying the hot weather. I'd like it a whole lot better if I was laying on the boat and taking a dip every hour or so.
