Actually, yes. We have been together since Christmas week of 1973. Married in 1975. We still enjoy each other's company and he is my best friend as well. When the chips are down he is always there for me. And he was a wonderful dad when the kids were small.

I have been wanting to ask this same question for a very long time, but wondered what people would say......I have been married for 51 years....we have separate beds/bedrooms because he snors tooooooo loud and I am up every 2 hours....we "kiss" hardley ever....

If one of us leaves on a short weekend trip, or goes to the hospital we will kiss but that is about it. When my husband still worked he would kiss me good-bye in the morning.

We celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary on the 9th of this month, but we have been together for almost 37 years.

I do not know if we kiss as compassionately as when we first met, but we do kiss several times a day, still hold hands wherever we go, and cuddle and hug constantly, I can without a doubt say that my husband is my best friend, my confidante, and my heart still skips a beat when he walks in the door at the end of the day!

I think passionate kissing fades after the initial romance period is over. Heck, a lot fades after the initial romance period is over come to think of it. Bet you would get similar answers from people who have only been married 5 years or less. Real day-to-day life steps in......

We've been married for 34 years and we're both 57. That "spark" has not gone out yet but it probably isn't the inferno it was 30 years ago...lol We're healthy and still in love and we work at keeping the romance alive. Neither of has ever wanted to "settled" into a passionless marriage, so we just didn't let that happen. Yes, we do everything now that we did 34 years ago and enjoy it just as much. And we do a few things now that we NEVER would have done 30 years ago....lol

We kiss occasionally; we almost always kiss when one of us is leaving for any extended time. But it not the same kind of kissing as the OP described.

We are soulmates after 49 years of marriage, but we still don't know everything about each other. And that's as it should be, IMO.

BTW, I don't think that kissing (no matter whether it's deep or a peck) is necessarily an accurate barometer of a relationship.

I would prefer to live alone than be married to someone I would not want to kiss me.. I would never settle for a marriage where a simple gesture like a kiss became a chore.

Yes, who's to say they are not perfectly content and happy? Just because it wouldn't work for you, doesn't mean it doesn't for other people. She gave an honest answer to a question that doesn't have a right or wrong answer.

We don't make out on the couch like we did when we were dating but it's still part of our repertoire. We've been married 2 years.
