POP QUIZ: DECORATING THROUGH THE DECADES

I found this quiz in the April 2017 edition of HGTV magazine. I thought it would be fun to try to post it here the best I can......hey, we can't talk about politics!!

Thanks @tends2dogs - This was a lot of fun! I just got home a little while ago, and it was nice to see something light!

I didn't do that well. I'm an "associate." I knew I had one right. Designing Women was one of my top favorite shows of all time. DH gave me the whole season when it came out, and since I grew up in Georgia I could understand how some of these women were. I loved all of them - but lost a lot of interest once Delta Burke left. I liked all of the romance on the show too - both for the show and IRL!

I thought I'd get the Fiesta one right. I have my grandmother's, and that had to be about the same time. But I missed the ivory.

Some of the others I knew and some I guessed. Thanks again for posting this!

That was fun...I'm an intern lol! I have the Fiestaware pitcher in the green (the color to the left of the red pitcher)...it belonged to my Grandmother...love it.

@beach-mom I missed the Ivory for the Fiesta, too. I go out "picking" or antiquing and don't remember seeing much Ivory. What color do you have? There used to be a rumor or such that the orange was toxic. Most likely lead in the paint? Could just be an urban legend. I am not sure if I would microwave in the older pieces, though. LOL

That "Jungle Room" of Elvis Presley really creeps me out. I can't imagine relaxing in that room.

Hi @tends2dogs - I have various pieces of turquoise, light green, yellow, and red-orange. I told my family a long time ago NOT to put it in the microwave. At that time I wasn't concerned about the lead and such; I was just afraid it was so fragile it would shatter! I used to hand wash it, although now I put it in the dishwasher on the top shelf. We don't use it much - most of the time for lunch on Saturday or a light dinner. Sometimes I'll use it to serve if my friends come over.

@beach-mom It can make a striking table. My sister has the blue, plates and several serving pieces. When it is all set out, very nice! I would think mixing up a table setting in the various colors would be a real eye catcher, too.
