Just read that Mary Kay Letourneau and her husband separated!

She is now 55 and he is 33 years old. He filed for the separation.....They have been married for 12 years......

Saw a special on them not too long ago - it was pretty clear things weren't good and that he had many regrets for not being able to be a kid and enjoy things his friends his age were doing. But, takes two to tango as they say.

You can look at that woman and just know she has serious mental issues. I just feel sorry for their children who will continue to live through this fiasco and more no doubt in the future.

The whole thing makes me ill and has from the beginning. They are both exactly (until 7/13) the same age as myself and my son. Yuck and Yuck!!!

The whole story makes me sick to my stomach but he's capitalized financially from selling his story. I do not think he is highly educated and skilled to do much of anything.

I remember watching something a few years ago about her - that her kids from her first marriage no longer see her or speak to her. They must be adults by now

Well....he's in the prime of his life and did not have a normal childhood...being a teen dad, etc. Now he can move on and start a new. Mary Kay is a walking personality disorder and a predator.

He was 12 when they "started" so it's safe to say that all their kids (hers and theirs) are adults. So gross. It's weird to think of him as 33

There is that as well. But there are "schools" that don't look into that very thoroughly :-( Same with MDs that have their licenses yanked - they do end up practicing medicine.

I vaugely recall two of the teen children from their union being on TV sharing their love and support of both parents. Outside of the norms, this family unit turned out some neat kids. They were well spoiken, sweet girls.

Maybe both of these two can find peace from what can only be considered a tragic beginning. They kept it together longer than a lot of couples.

My understanding is that her 1st husband moved to Alaska w/the children and changed their names legally.

The fallout from MKL will reverberate for another generation at least.

I wonder if it were the other way around? With him being the older one who marries a young woman. I think this conversation would be very different...either way the age gap is just too wide for most people to accept and I can't judge.
