Is your city/state fun?

I was driving home from work the other morning, listening to local talk radio, and they were discussing WalletHub’s recent list of the “most fun states.”

I nearly crashed the car when I heard New Mexico came in at number 18. The list is a hoot.

So where’s your state on the list? Don’t feel pressured to reveal personal information. You can simply agree or disagree with your state’s ranking, or you can make a case for why it is or why it isn’t fun.

There’s also a list of “most fun cities” on their site. Albuquerque’s 56 out of 150.

Illinois is 16 on the state list. That was surprising. (Chicago's my hometown.)

I saw the map. They need to visit northern lower Michigan. Wow, that was a misstep! Then I looked at S. Dakota. Another misstep. Didn't read who did this, but, take it with a grain of salt evidentally. USA is major on places to see and visit! Wonderful country.

I can't read the article, I don't click on unknown links but I live in the Boston area. My town is a lovely little colonial type town, close to the water and it has everything that I think of as fun. Boston, of course, is tourist mecca and we do go into the city for interesting restaurants, theatre, museums, art galleries or to just walk around. My town, my city, my state, my region....there's everything for everyone. New Mexico is actually on my bucket list for places I want visit, hubby and I talk about it every year when we make our vacation plans but something else always pushes it out.

Boston is 73 and Massachusetts is 26. I love the Boston area. We were lucky enough to visit back in the 90s and all I can say is: We had fun.

Keep New Mexico on your list. We depend on the kindness of strangers. Actually, it's worth a visit. It's so completely different from New England.

But I still want to see Pittsburgh and have some great Italian food.

Oh -- and Pennsylvania is 30.

@just bee No doubt Pittsburgh is wonderful IN THE SUMMER -sports, water sports - it sits on 3 rivers plus is only a 2 hour drive from Lake Erie, one of the great lakes, that has gorgeous beaches. Casinos, shopping outlets, camping nearby, museums, history everywhere. Street concerts. The food is incredible. Many ethnicities are prevelent in Pittsburgh and people still retain their love of ethnic food. Most native Pittsburgers are very friendly - the city has a reputation for being friendly.

However, your right, the winters are horrid. Mountainous terrain and ice storms - UGG! I never want to ever see ice or snow again.I never want to have to own a 4 wheel drive vehicle ever again. And the spring storms can be pretty bad too.

I live in New Jersey. I find it difficult to believe NYC is only # 121. NYC is, after all, the City that never sleeps. That Newark NJ made the list at all is incredible. Don't know anyone that would call Newark "fun". Jersey City, NJ is definitely better than Newark so it shouldn't have ranked lower IMHO.

I visited my mother's family in Erie but don't remember much. I was two. Both Erie and Pittsburgh have come a long way since then.

As for Great Lakes, I lived in Chicago as a kid -- a block from Lake Michigan.

Right now I'm so excited that the Rio Grande looks like a real river for the first time in years. A benefit from all the snow and rain.

For what it's worth, New York is number 5 on the state list. I love NYC, but just a little less now that Carnegie Deli is gone.

NYC's ranking was probably low because they were looking at affordable fun.

For me, just walking down a street in that city is fun. And, boy, did we walk.
