What Do Customers Want To See In The QVC Host or Programming?

There have been so many abrupt departures over the past few years, but never, ever this many at the Q in such a short amount of time.

I am wondering what the customers think. Maybe we could offer advice on what changes THE CUSTOMER would like to see happen here. Any suggestions? All areas welcome...after all, we are the customers, right?

We may be the customers, but I don't expect the head honchos to pay any attention to anything that we say here.

@shell garden Honestly I do not think the higher powers care what us customers think, we mention the same things over and over and over and NOTHING ever changes, they are going to do what they want to do, and it is all about the bottom line!

I understand what you are saying totally....but, they need to start listening to the customers. Afterall, we do pay with our money...to keep them in business. Lately, because it has been so boring and overbearing and overpriced....I shop elsewhere and I used to spend GOBS of money here.

The thing is QVC's bottom line has been sinking for many quarters.

Here is MY opinion, so since everybody cannot have it their way ALL of the time, I would include myself. I can't have mine all of the time either. Some of my opinions are unpopular, but that is ok with me.

1) No silly poppy-****** (from Boston Legal quote)

I just greatly dislike forced frivolity, especially when it shows itself in "forced laughter." (Valley-girl accents, etc)

2) I do truly enjoy pleasant, fun interaction between vendors and hosts -- not everyone does.

3) I like hosts who are aware of the body language of their guests... so sticking their faces in the faces of the models/vendors is not cute or funny.

4) Use of proper grammar -- I know casual conversations are more relaxed and that is ok.

5) As far as promoting the products, I wish there was more time spent on the details of the garments while they are being worn. This means more examples of garments being shown on more varieties of women-- tall, short, average.

Since monitors are all different, I suppose we will never get a true hue if the colors... but watching on Q live on my iPad is so much clearer for me than the tv.

6) Speaking of Q live, when watching I wish I could reverse sometimes.

How would anyone here know if any host's departure was abrupt or not. It may be that they didn't want a fuss made for weeks about their leaving with all the dumb phone calls from customers proclaiming their love for the host and how they will be missed and those stupid good bye thingies they have. As for what customers think - well I will keep buying here because there are many products I like and CS is great and I don't really care which host is hosting as I don't watch to criticize and post! Why would they care about what a few habitual complainers want. They can't please everyone and I'm pretty sure that if they actually would make changes because a small minority of posters here don't like something (not ones that would buy much anyway even if every one of their wants were met), then many many others would not like the changes.

For me it would be MORE VARIETY, after that spending less time on items. It gets boring if they spend to long on an item. I usually know right away if i am interested in an item, there is nothing they can say to entice me to buy something if i don't like it. I used to like when they did a preview of all the items before the show, i would know if i wanted to watch. Times have changed and people are used to a faster pace. Also the host's clothes are usually better looking then what they are trying to sell, so if i like whatt the host is wearing, i will search for something like it elsewhere. Lack of manners really bother me, don't put feet up or sit with them on the couch, it is live TV, show some class. Also trying to be cute, use proper english, say the correct name of the person, in general just show us the item !!!

Which is why they don't listen. For every person who feels one way there's someone who feels the opposite and says so.

I am not the host's BFF and they aren't mine. I honestly don't care about them telling me anything about their life off-QVC sets. It's fake, very annoying, and makes me want to change the channel and not buy when I can't get enough info on the product because I had to hear about dance recitals or the host's faith.

But for every casual, not glued to the channel 24/7 viewer like me, there are people who love-love-love being BFF's with that cute young thing who they wish was their granddaughter, because GD never visits and they're stuck in the house alone.

They're still playing around with their demographic, as if they think it is/hope it is/want it to be what it isn't. When there is no variety and you've seen all products you even might be interested in a zillion times, variety becomes the biggest issue, even over hosts. No host can "fix" that.

My personal wish list? Someone who behaves like an adult and doesn't gush, kiss-kiss, cackle or screech. I don't want to hear about hubby, the kids or grandma. I don't want to hear what they buy/own.

Someone who resists QVC's drive to turn them into someone they're not, in a bad way, in order to keep their job. No faux, cheesy, forced reactions or feelings. No OMGs or huge gasps of wonder. Minimal phoniness.

I think QVC is trying to blame decreasing sales on the hosts. "If we only had the right hosts..."

Um...no. If you only had items people cared to buy at non-ripoff prices and s&h...
