Facebook question

I would like to know what you all think.

I am new to facebook. I had a fake account, that I used for 3 people who live in other areas of the country.

Then, I decided to get a real fb account, real name. Husband got one also, about a week ago.

Now, I have a friend, on fb and real life. She sends dh a friend request last week, he told me she had, and he had friended her.

Then, today, she tells me, 'I saw where your husband had a facebook account'

If I didn't know she is in an unhappy marriage I wouldn't think anything. And if she hadn't already told me about a guy she has been too friendly with on fb (and off) I wouldn't think anything. hmmm.

My husband blocked her shortly after friending her because he didn't want to see her constant posts. Its not my dh I'm thinking about though.

It is just odd to me, that she said "I saw where your dh is on fb", when she knows d good and well she sent him a friend request.

What do ya'll think of that?

He doesn't have to unfriend her to stop seeing her posts. All he has to do is click the little arrow in the upper right hand of her post, and can select "hide all ???'s posts."

I personally am not a fan of FB.I have a page but basically post nothing.I have absolutely no pictures posted or any personal info of myself at all. I started a page to be able to vote on American Idol.I also use it to enter contests etc.

A hand full of friends sent me friend requests,so not to be rude I accepted their invitations.I can't believe all the personal ,rude, & vindictive things that some of these people post!! My opinions of them have definitely changed.I recently unfollowed someone because her posts were outright disgusting & offensive!

My son is on FB but he's very careful about what he posts.He only comments about sports & general things about politics.He has only put up a couple of pictures.His friends basically put their entire lives out their for all to see!

This is only my opinion,but I don't understand why anybody would want to share their business with the universe!!

Might be overthinking (probably), but could be she wanted to know what you are aware of on DH's FB page and what you might not be aware of.

You're not giving enough background. Is she the sort who loves to gossip? Has she gossiped about people you know? Has she ever flirted with DH? Do you have any reason to think ill of her? We don't know any of that.

Could be clueless, could possibly not be, but from what little you've said, ???

I think you have unspoken concerns about this "friend". She would have had to have seen his page in order to send a friend request.

Of course that raises the question of why/how did she even know to look for his "real name" but at least she brought it up to you instead of staying quiet about the request.

Perhaps that was an invitation for you to volunteer that you too have a FB page in your real name and she was hoping you would ask her to send a friend request to you. Or, she was alerting you to your husband's page in case you didn't know.

@NicksmomESQ I am limited to what I have on my FaceBook page too. I usually share stuff from inspirational pages, etc. Most of my friends post personal stuff and that is the way I keep up with family matters such as weddings, engagements, etc. I have a cousin who is in the hospital and she is very, very sick. I am sad to say that this is how I found out that she is in the hospital.

Many of the married couples I know have one FB account that they share with both of their names and they sign their posts/comments with their initials so you know who is speaking.

That may be one way to avoid a lot of issues.

@happycat I would have been annoyed too. FaceBook started out with good intentions for people to connect. It seems like it has gotten out of control now with some posters. I stay under the radar.......

@Marp, I am friends with her on facebook. Was before my husband got on there.

I think my husbands name popped up hers where it says "people you may know".

What she said to me in a text today was "I saw where your dh is on fb., and I wouldn't want mine on there, lol"

You've been on fb for a week and already have angst about it. What's the benefit? I got off fb and have never looked back.

It sounds like she's had a bad experience with her husband on Facebook and was maybe trying to give you a heads up like you didn't know he had created an account.

@Msfitness, I think it's a good idea to stay under radar. I think thats what I should have kept doing.
