Fed Up With Scam Robocalls and Telemarketers!

Are you as fed-up with scam robocalls and telemarketing solicitations as l am??!! I'm now getting several every day on both my landline and cellphone. This article gives some advice on how to reduce the number you get on your landline. (It's easier to block them on your cellphone if you have a Smartphone). Here's the link:

@handygal2 I bought the Panasonic phone on HSN with CALL BLOCK. It has made a huge difference in calls on my land line....worth every dollar and a great phone to boot!

Ever since I signed up for the Do not call registry many years ago I have not gotten one single telemarketing call or robocall or anything along that lines. It is soooo nice!!

YES and YES!! Weed man (lawn service) was calling my number a while back- chewed some guy out.. now they're calling my husband's business number,,,, grrrrr,,, so I called and left them a message!!! 9 at night, what the heck...

The DNC is a big joke and waste of time....😠😠😠

We no longer have a land line. When we did, I'd get soooooo many of those calls. They're bad enough as it is, but what really got me even more angry was that sometimes calling at 9 p.m. and later. Having a young daughter who went to bed early for school....it just got me so mad. I haven't had nearly as many on my cell, but I'd rather have none.

I get them on my cell phone persistently. This, despite being on the Do Not Call Registry which must have been a joke or something.

I have been on DNC for years and resubmitted again. I still get several calls every day. My landline provider just sent a notice of how to block the calls now with no additional special equipment. I've been doing it the last week or so I do hope it stops all those unwanted calls.

@handygal2 both my husband and I have not had any since we signed up about 10 years ago. My parents, however, get them all the time still and they supposedly signed up with the DNC at the same time we did. But you know, they also respond to the calls and they also give their number out when they shouldn't so it doesn't surprise me that they still get all those calls! I keep telling them to be more selective with their phone number and to get their phone number OUT Of the phone book! I think many of those calls are because their number is still listed in the phone book and that is where many of these places get phone numbers and go "fishing".

The Do Not Call Registry is a joke and doesn't work.

Can you sign-up for Nomorobo? It's free and works like a charm. I've had it for a few months and couldn't be happier. No more robo calls!

I second nomorerobo.com . It's free for a landline and much fewer calls have been coming through. For telemarketers, etc. the phone rings once and then they're gone, like magic!

What am I missing here? I don't understand all of the hullabaloo about these calls. The solution is not complicated. Don't answer the phone if you don't recognize the number. If it is someone you know, they will leave a message. If it isn't, they won't and you haven't had to deal with them.

Easy peasy. Problem solved. just because your phone rings, you don't have to answer it. They don't bother me at all because i don't answer the phone.

The unknown calls are incessant @Bridgegal. They are bothersome. I don't answer calls I don't know but that doesn't make it any less troublesome. It's a pain......truly it is.

I've been getting them several times a day on my cell phone. It's odd but when those bogus calls come through my phone says "likely a scam call". So, I don't answer and then I block that number.
