Assuming you could have your pick, what decade, or era, would you choose to live in?

I'm not one to long for the good old days, but I'd like to go back to my roots, the 50s.

For many reasons.

Loved everything about it.

I would say the 50's or 60's. Not sure why, exactly. Things seems simpler then, less complicated. This is a good question! I look forward to everyone's responses. How about you, @YorkieonmyPillow?

I think if I could choose, I would want to live in the 1940's - early '50s.

I think that must have been a great time to be alive.

The Roaring Twenties for me! I just love all the glitz and glamour of that era. Art deco is my favorite style of design.

Glad I'm not the only one - me too! There was a freedom in the 20s not seen again until the 60s and beyond.

I loved the 60's and the music. I was just a young girl, but it was a happy time until my dad went to Vietnam in 1969. I loved that I could walk down the street in San Clemente with my sister to buy candy and caps for my g*n. We were 5 and 6. My mom was so pretty in her capris and sleeveless tops and we went to the beach all the time. No crowds in those days.

No, not really @YorkieonmyPillow. I love the fashion and architecture mostly. The jewelry of that time was pretty spectacular, too.

The 60's and 70's of course I would like to be a kid again. Everything was magical then, Christmas and all the rest of the holidays. Things were less complicated and in the 60's and early 70's we did fairly good financially. My dad sold real estate and those were good times. We were a family, no one was glued to technology because all as we had was a transistor radio and a TV. I remember when we got a 19 inch color set. We thought we were it. Yes, I would go back with all me relatives alive and well, We had great times.

I liked the 1980s, too. Some compare this decade to the 1920s and I can see several parallels in the two. Both were times of prosperity with an explosion of self-expression without boundaries. I love that.

I loved Victorian Gingerbread houses and the drama of the Victorian life.

My grandmother was a true Victorian, born in 1900.

I could live in this house and wear the clothes. I would want more land, but most lived in town. Medicine wasn't good, though.

It certainly wouldn't be any time in the past, I hear polio, TB and the plague weren't too much fun...lol If had to choose, I'd choose to live in the future.

I like living right now! Any time before this there were smokers everywhere I turned.

Smokers in my hospital rooms with my new babies, smokers in my college classes, smokers at the movies, grocery stores, department store dressing rooms, every restaurant, and every airplane... to name a few.

Now if they would just get away from the outside doors, it would be near perfect.

Actually, if they would just get away.... period.

If time travel were a thing, I'd love to take a visit to the period of the Revolutionary War. I'd love to be in Boston during this period.

I'd also like to visit the era of the Civil War.

I wouldn't want to stay there, but I think it would be fascinating. I'd also like to bring people of that era to this time (again, just to visit and see what they think) especially members of my own family from the past, as well as famous historical figures from those periods.
