A QVC Shipping First -- at least for me

Today UPS delivered a large QVC box to my home. When I saw it, I couldn't imagine what I bought that would require that size of box. I opened it, and it contained two different orders I placed on Sunday from two different shows: the Copper Chef crisper tray set and the Indoor/Outdoor Rejuvenate cleaner. Probably these two items were in the same warehouse and packed together which would make sense, but this has never happened in the eight years I've been a customer. Has anyone else received two (or more) different orders in one box lately -- or ever? Could this be a new QVC shipping efficiency? It's not an S&H savings by any means, but it certainly is a shipping improvement if this wasn't just a one-off.

I have never received two orders in one box. You were lucky. It seems when the Q offers the easy pays days, it takes forever for something to ship. Otherwise, when the Q ships UPS to me, it only takes 2 days for me to receive.

I got a big box last week that contained my TSV mandolin plus bottles of degreaser. Way to go Q!

Over the last 3 months I have received more than one order per box, which surprised me also, they have never done this before in the 30+ years I have been shopping with the Q, I was pleasantly glad to see this!

Hasn't happened yet. It would be great if the q could get that working and adjust shipping charges accordingly.

I almost purchased the Oreck Air Purifier until I saw the shipping charges were $14.47, that stopped me in my tracks, I refuse to pay such charges for shipping, I did some research and found the same unit with FREE shipping and very similar prices, sorry Q, you need to look at your high cost of shipping!

When two orders that are completely separate and have their own order number arrive in 1 box yes, that has happened to me too. I guess it saves them on the price of shipping sooooo, am I going to get a refund? Uh, I'm sure the answer is a big no!

This is kind of funny. I've had just the oposite happen lately - in one order I ordered 2 of the same item that came in separate bags on different days.

Go figure!

Yes, this has been happening to me a LOT over the past few months.

I don't appreciate it at all.

Not only are we NOT getting a discount on the shipping cost, I now only have ONE receipt with two totally different order numbers and items.

Since they stopped giving us a combined shipping discount, I place my orders SEPARATELY on purpose.

I prefer to have an original receipt for EACH item. If I return one, I now do not have a return label for the other (yes, I know I can go online and print one). I also do not have an original receipt for the other item I may keep. If I decide to return at a later date, I have to waste time and paper going online to print off paperwork.

Either give me a discount or ship them the way I order them.

BTW- I did not get them any faster...still took forever.

@RespectLife You know I never looked at it from your point of view about the return aspect, you are totally right!

And we should be getting a discount, their shipping charges are outrageous!

@PINKdogWOOD. I've received an eyebrow pencil duo in a box the size for shoes...naturally higher shipping and more money to return. Doesn't make sense at all!!

Re shipping: I'd love to see no additional shipping if you purchase 2 of the same item (except of course if lounger, computer or something heavy). I'm referring to clothing, jewelry, etc.

Buy more save more is a joke. There's a $4 discount for each additional item, but it isn't mentioned that $3 is added for shipping each item. So big deal. That's $1 off?

@Shanus This happened to me just the other day, I received a HUGE box and could not imagine what might be in it, I sincerely thought someone had sent me a gift, inside was the set of 2 microwave popcorn poppers - K45697 & a set of 2 Kuhn Rikon Crinkle & Mezzaluna Knife - K39520, it was ridiculus when I opened the box, they could have added at least 4 other items in the same box it was that big, no wonder their shipping is so HIGH!

@Shanus And QVC is finding for myself anyway less and less buying options that I actually purchase, before I purchase anything I do my research and quite a bit of the time I can find the same product or very similar product with free shipping somewhere else, and they offer FREE returns also!

receiving two separate orders in the same box has been happening to me sometimes for years.....never really gave it a second thought.

other times i may order three of the same top and they all arrive in separate packages.

Has never happened to me. I ordered 2 Stan Herman caftans in the same order (same number, same size but different colors) and they came in 2 separate packages the other day. This happened once before with the same items in the same order but 2 packages.

I'm not sure if I totallly understand what the concern is about returns. I misplaced my receipt once, and Customer Service told me that I could just write out the order information by hand or print it out from "My Orders."

As for the return label, I don't find that it saves me any money to use QVC's return label on light-weight items. It probably would on a heavy-weight product, but most companies will email you a label if you want to use their label for a return.

I do think that if they are going to ship more than one order in a box, they should give a special rate on the shipping then rather than charge for shipping two different items. I see lots of things that I like on QVC, but their shipping is the main reason why I do not order more from them. Their prices are fairly high as it is, so they need to do something to be more competitive.There are so many companies that offer deals on their shipping or let you use promo/coupon/free shipping codes.
