Only kind remarks please BUT I WONDER WHY

there can not be a political forum? Or one on NEWS like URGENT NEWS...........all topics can go bad as we all know..........it just seems like Urgent News should be allowed as they monitor anyway.........

This is a shopping channel forum, you can watch the news and post on other sites. Everytime they loosen the rules just a little it gets ugly. I for one am glad they don't allow it, I don't get my information about the world here. Thanks mods.

Extremely well said. If I want news I turn on a news station not a shopping channel. I'm so sick of hearing about bad news here. If I want to be depressed over bad tragic news that somebody died, or there's war, I'll choose to turn on a news station. For once I wish somebody would post something happy instead of sad. I come here to escape the bad news I hear on a news channel. Why repeat it.

Even though people want to say this is a "shopping forum", there are all types of discussions that are in no way shopping related. But current events would no doubt turn political and that is "against the rules". It doesn't stop some from getting their digs in where they can.

I agree that topics of national concern should be discussed by those that are interested.

Heaven forbid there should be some intelligent, interesting issues.

People ask for medical advice from totally unqualified strangers, but a deadly attack on innocent people is forbidden. Go figure

I always say if I want to hear the latest gloom and doom report of the day/ slanted hear-say opinions all I have to do is call dear MIL....LOL. Am glad I have at least one place to go where I can escape those subjects...even the weather of which she is entirely obsessed...none of which I have any control over anyway......just gives me the "tummy pains" of constantly seeing opinions turning into ugly battles. To be honest I rarely watch any News channels anymore. Am glad to just keep it light here although at times is nice to offer and receive much needed support on some shared matters discussed...I appreciate that very much. xxxxx Stormy

I agree, this isn't a shopping forum. Not with games, movies, recipes, etc.

And on Chat, very little discussion is about shopping.

If your interested in "political" forums or blogs. CNN, FoxNews, MSNBC, all have forums. They don't edit and everything is a go.......some good & bad discussions, so you have to be open minded to all the discussions and all the post. 😱

Totally agree with both of you. So easy to say "this is a shopping channel forum" but what does that mean? I see very little about any kind of shopping on many of the forums, but also agree with @VanSleepy that current events topics would quickly turn political. After political would come nasty. Even a seemingly innocent topic can turn a thread on its ear sometimes.
