I just read an article online about a two-year-old boy who told his mother he has lived and died before. He can neither read nor write yet, and says he was a tall baseball player who knew Babe Ruth, but his name was Lou Gehrig and he died very young (from ALS obviously). She relates that he's very detailed about this memory. He also told her he "picked" her as his mom.

I can't find it now, don't know where I was when I saw the photo and article, so I can't post a link to it.

The mother says they are Catholic and do not believe in reincarnation, but she can't explain this story coming from her very young son. She also said he's always loved baseball from the time he was a toddler.

Do you think this is just "fake news?" Or do you believe this little boy?

I don't exactly believe in reincarnation.

Sure, there are things that I can't explain, but for me personally, I tend to think that life is a one-and-done sort of thing.

Cathy Byrd’s 2-year-old son, Christian Haupt, was a baseball prodigy who spent countless hours pitching and hitting balls, and insisted on wearing a baseball uniform every day. In 2011 his outstanding abilities even landed the boy a small part in the Adam Sandler movie That’s My Boy.

But in her new memoir, The Boy Who Knew Too Much, Byrd shares an even more improbable story that even she had trouble believing at first: She claims that Christian was the reincarnation of baseball legend Lou Gehrig, who played for the Yankees nearly a century ago.

Byrd had not believed in reincarnation. But she says she began to explore it based on the statements Christian makes about Gehrig’s life that she says the young child could not have otherwise known.

She then confirms his statements through Google searches, radio and TV shows, books and searches of Gehrig archives.

I can't speak to this story (and why people who make the news tend to be reincarnated as someone famous, *eyeroll*), but I have read quite a few stories over the decades that can't really be explained, and I would not say I don't believe in reincarnation.

I do not subscribe to any belief system that prevents or dissuades me from believing in reincarnation. I would tend to believe more in karma and reincarnation than any other belief system, because it makes sense/is logical to me.

AFAIC, it's either karma and reincarnation or one and done, that's all she wrote. But I won't know until...

I don't see what belief has to do with it. It's either real or it's not. Belief is generally a word people use when they can't prove something that think is true. Belief isn't really in my vocabulary. Except when dealing with little kids who make up their own truth, even when evidence to the contrary is staring you in the face. IE the kid with crumbs all over their clothes that claims they didn't eat the cookies.

Not sure where I stand regarding "reincarnation." Especially after reading years ago how the "Dalai Lama(s)" are found, tested & picked.

Shanti Devi was one of the first people I read about, maaany years ago.

I've always been fascinated by reincarnation. Does anyone here remember The Search For Bridey Murphy?

And then there was an American woman who remembered a past life in Ireland, details, details, went to Ireland and remembered the route to her old home and is said to have found her youngest child there, at that time quite elderly.
