What does chipolte taste like?

I want to buy some food from Jersey Mikes, either a Chipolte Cheese Steak or Chipolte Chicken Cheese Steak Sub.

Chipotle flavor is a smoky pepper flavor. Not pepper as in black pepper, but smoked peppers, sometimes jalapeños. I don't find chipotle flavor very hot, but nice smoky heat.

Chipotle peppers are smoked dried jalapenos that are also found canned in adobo sauce. To me they just taste like a smoky hot pepper

I buy powdered and mix it in dry rubs, sauces and salt for popcorn. Stuff I have is pretty hot.

Yes, I've seen it in powdered form as well.

I also use chipotle chili powder in a rub recipe and totally agree that it is HOT! Once I used too much, because it smelled so good but had to dial that way, way back to about 1/8t for the entire recipe.

I use the sriracha sauce all the time and it is the pepper, garlic, sugar and vinegar mixed together in a sauce. It adds great flavor, but it is hot so add a little at a time, depending on your tolerance.

While sriracha sauce is made of peppers, there is no sriracha pepper. Supposedly the name of the sauce comes from a town in Thailand.

I love chipotle. I made a little chipotle mayo dipping sauce for the crab cakes we made for dinner tonight.

It has a nice smoky heat...

You can purchase a small can of chipotles in the grocery store to sample. Personally it's an acquired taste, I don't care for it. I do like hot, but not chipotle.
