And another relatively quiet night has passed in the old BB 14 madhouse. Another forty or so alliances have formed overnight and pretty much everyone is now allied with everyone else in two, three, four, or more alliances which is going to make the next round of nominations very interesting. The primary alliance in the house right now is still the Dan/Danielle/Britney/Shane/Ian alliance. Boogie and Frank think they're in that alliance in place of Ian, but they're not quite as solid as Ian is right now to the other four. You know this because they've told Ian how Frank/Boogie think they're part of "The Silent Six" but they haven't told Frank/Boogie of Ian being with them.

The newbies (Wil/Ashley/Jenn and maybe Joe) think they're in control of the house and control what happens, but to be sure they're spreading out to make many more side alliances to then report back to the main alliance what's really going on. They're pretty sure they can pull Frank, Shane and Danielle into their alliance. (That's not going to happen.) Wil and Jenn briefly considered saving Janelle when they thought that Dan/Danielle and Frank/Boogie were in an alliance. They think they have the votes to save Janelle (Wil, Joe, Ashley, Jenn, and Britney) but they don't have Britney's vote. And frankly that talk died down pretty quickly. Janelle's team is not overly fond of her and they think they have a better shot of keeping Frank on their side than Janelle.

Lots of Janelle bashing took place last night, which is pretty typical for whoever the nominee is this year. Lots of exaggerations were made, lies were spread, etc. The Janelle fans are appalled at this, but it's happened every week to pretty much every nominee, so it's nothing new. Even Janelle has done it. In week one after her team flipped to Frank/Boogie's side she didn't tell Frank that Willie fought like crazy to keep him and instead insisted it was Willie who wanted Frank gone and Janelle couldn't understand why. Actually, it was Willie who fought to keep Frank until Frank turned on him. Granted Danielle did go a bit over the top in embellishing their meeting, but it's not atypical for what we've seen this year.

Today the houseguests will get the digital camera for the HOH photographs and Danielle will do her HOH blog. (Which has potential to be interesting.) Janelle will scramble to see if she can rally the votes. The many, many alliances will have many, many conferences among themselves trying to figure out who knows what about who. There's potential for a pretty big blowup today/tonight especially if alcohol is made available in excessive quantities.

So, where does the house stand right now? If I was betting I'd say Janelle goes home on Thursday by our first unanimous vote of the year. Someone may throw her a sympathy vote, but I doubt it. Her only real chance to stay in the house is for Boogie/Frank to blow up and say/do something stupid. Then the votes could flip a bit, but I think the odds of that happening are pretty remote. I think the Dan/Danielle/Shane/Britney/Ian allaince is rock sold and none of them will flip out to join the newbie side, so even if the newbies decided to save Janelle they wouldn't have the votes. There's no way Boogie will vote out Frank.

Time for a quick rundown on the houseguests.

Dan is playing a pretty smart game, but he seems to think his only real chance of winning is by taking another coach to the final two with him. That's good news for Britney and Boogie. Dan seems to prefer to take Boogie and may have made a preshow deal with him.

Danielle is (to put it mildly) a bit needy. She wants constant affirmation and positive feedback. She's the houseguest most likely to be found sobbing uncontrollably in a corner at some stage of the game. She's proven to be a tough competitor, but her mental toughness is highly suspect.

Shane is somewhat brain dead. He just nods and repeats whatever the last person said. It's also easy to seriously question his orientation. Danielle is literally throwing herself at him and despite her somewhat coo coo for coconuts mental state, most unattached straight men would respond in some manner to her attentions. Shane has instituted a no touching below the waist rule with her however that earned Danielle a reprimand when her hand went lower than Shane would like.

Britney is playing a decent game in that she's not a huge target for anyone at this stage which is impressive. Her huge catalog of lies has potential to come back and bite her eventually, but so far she's managed to keep everything straight and out of trouble.

Boogie is Boogie. This year he's clearly obsessed with Frank in a way that's probably not good for either of them. Of everyone in the house those two are the tightest and the whole house knows it which makes them the two most likely to be broken apart by the house at some point. Boogie hadn't really been playing the game until now and coasting along assuming things were going fine, but he now knows he almost lost Frank last week and that seems to have alerted him that it's game time.

Frank is something of an oddity. He's been targeted from day one and somehow is still in the game. He's likely to stay in the game for quite a while since both sides of the house think they can work with him now.

Joe is a dead man walking, but he doesn't know it yet. He's lined up by pretty much everyone in the house as the next person to go. He tends to cook all of their food at one time which oddly has the other houseguests a little upset when they want something later. Joe could go and no one would really care.

Wil is likely to follow Joe out the door. He's in a pretty bad spot right now and unless he starts winning comps, he'll be gone soon. He thinks he's in control of the house, but he's in a world of trouble unless his side suddenly starts winning HOH's.

Jenn is reasonably safe in that no one views her as a threat. I'm not sure half the house even is aware that she's still there.

Ian may be the safest person in the game right now. Pretty much everyone thinks they're working with Ian, but he's only really working with Dan/Daniellle/Britney/Shane as far as I can tell. Letting everyone think he's working with them though keeps him very safe. His big worry will be late in the game. No one will want to go against Ian in the final two so when the number of houseguests starts to dwindle his days will be numbered.

Janelle is in big, big trouble. Her team abandoned her midway through week one and she had to go join them. Her gameplay this season has been pretty bad and she's got a huge bullseye painted on her back right now and there are nine voters with guns aimed squarely at it.

Ashley is just floating along without a care in the world and unless something dramatic changes may float along for a few more weeks. Most view getting rid of Ashley as a wasted HOH and they don't want to waste an HOH on her, so she'll float pretty much to the end. Truthfully I think most of the houseguests would consider themselves lucky to be up opposite Ashley in the final two. Ashley would be hard pressed to tell the jury what game moves she made that should make her the winner.

If I were to name the final two houseguests right now I'd say Ashley and Shane. (I wouldn't be stunned to see Jenn there though.)
