We just got our power back on about a hour ago, was out a day and a half,we got hit hard here,surprised there is not a thread on it.

Just talke to my sister, in NE Pa. They got 20 inches. My B-I-L says there's just no place to put the snow even if you could shovel it. Fortunately for them, no power failure................yet.

Thankfully, your power is restored. Here in (southern) PA .... received 10 inches, 28 degrees, and 30 mph winds. In my region, we were "spared."

Can you share your geographic location?

No power loss here, but we had an official 18" by last night and it snowed more today.

Can't wait for this cold mess to go. I'm not shoveling, I'm holed up until it melts off.

NE pa, we got over two feet. It is drifting. 4ft. Drifts. The schools and colleges are closed tomorrow for the third day. My husband plowed our lane 3 times yesterday and once today. A few schools have closed for the rest of the week. The ambulances are having a hard time getting around. At least 3 people are dead in our area, had heart attacks shoveling snow.

No mail, newspaper or deliveries for last 2 days.

Ok if you have everything you need and do not have to go out.

We are a mess around here in upstate NY. 31" of that rotten snow in a 24hr period. I am sore in places that I didn't even know I had!! We can't even get out of our own way around here! Feel terrible for those who lost power in this nightmare.

I'm glad your power is back on! Didn't lose power, got 8 inches BUT it's all ice. I shoveled many hours yesterday and woke up to find that the sanitation trucks pushed all that so called snow blocking my driveway. The cab companies told me there was a two hour wait, so I took an ice pick and shovel for 1 hr and 15 min. And then I went to work🙁

My friend's mother lives alone in a house that was built in about 1917 (no heat upstairs) alone and is near 92 years old. She's in good health but she got 30 inches of snow! Lives in Pennsylvania.

It was a big mess but not quite as bad as what they said?

I didn't watch the news on this one nor did I venture outside so I am not sure.

I am not too far from New York City.

I feel so old!

I ordered a pizza and I was telling the delivery guy to be very careful and to watch where he walked and he jumped over a snow bank with no problem lol!

@cancun08 same here. The thing that realy boggles my mind is the little to nothing a neighbor will do to help those that are older and don't have snow blowers. If I had a snow blower and/or plow on the front of my truck, I'd be out helping the neighbors who need help.

North NJ here, near Morristown. We got 12 inches, no problems. Today I went to a physical therapy appointment not far away. Roads were pretty good but entrances\exits to parking lots are slippery. Be safe out there.

@cancun08 and to make matters worse, the idiot next door sat in his house all day yesterday and finally, around 6 pm, came out to snowblow his driveway (which is much smaller than ours) and in four passes cleaned it off. My husband was out their shoveling for over three hours. I finally made him come in. He's in his early 60s but I'm always afraid it's too much of a strain for him. I tried helping him but I only weigh 100 lbs myself and that snow was very heavy. Tonight I heard him out there again blowing the snow (after dark) and I looked out to our side yard and guess where he blew all the snow -- yup, in our yard.

I'm in CT visiting my mother. We got 15 inches. It was disheartening that no one called to check on her during the storm. She's 83 and lives alone. Everyone thought I left Monday, but my flight was changed to tomorrow. It was brutal shoveling with a small shovel. Had to shovel the walk and where she parks her car. The snow from the plow at the end of the driveway was waist high. I wasn't about to attempt it.

I am glad you got your power on. What a 2 days its been. Some did but we didn't lose power but we got 15 inches of snow (and sleet under the snow, because it snowed then sleeted, then snowed).

DH took off yesterday and cleared the snow for hours on his birthday. I felt bad because I cant help because of my back. Today he went to work and roads had drifted over with snow plus they got icy. When he came home it was even worse he said and with ice underneath the drifted snow, he slid.

Now its windy and in the low 20s tonight and going even lower Accidents all over because roads froze again and drifting snow. My daughter said she slid tonight picking my 1 granddaughter up from work. My son goes and drives to his fiances over an hour away from where he lives. So now of course i will worry about him getting to work tomorrow morning. Yes hes an adult but I still worry!

Schools are all closed again tomorrow for the 3rd day due to crews having trouble clearing the roads due to blowing winds blowing the snow plus the ice!

I hope these roads clear more by Friday because I have a Dr appt 45 minutes away and do not want to cancel.

Lastly, according to the weather man a mix of snow and ice is coming Friday night into Saturday and maybe a mix Mon into Tues.

All I can say is ugh BRING ON WARM WEATHER ASAP! lol.

Sad cuz no one should be alone during an expected catastrophic storm. I'm about 30 years younger than your friend and I don't have many more of these huge storms left in me. About 2 years ago I just decided when these storms are expected, I'd go stay with a sister or brother, close my house up and make calls ahead of time to pay ppl to make sure my driveway and sidewalk are plowed/shoveled before I returned.

I'm soon to be in an over 55 community where all yard work and snow removal is done as part of the HOA. Community is also very near populated areas and shopping - so any power losses get restored pretty quickly. My limitations have changed as I age and am trying to make situations like this easier to overcome in the future.
