What other INSECTS?????

No one has mentioned what other flying insects that the Dyna Trap kill?

Butterflies, moths or the good bugs for gardens? Many other Non Biting insects are attracted to the light. LIGHTS! LIGHTS....!

I have tried 4 times trying to post this from a video where the Denim and Co. host was so frightened...HATED INSECTS.

Somewhat very confused exactly what is being eradicated?

Also, I mentioned & said if anything should be a frightening experience would be the S\ H of all of the clothing she convinced everyone in buying. That was flipped off 3 times!

Surely she or anyone else who has so many of this - that and whatsoever would have no skin nourishment for any insect to bite, having layers of clothing 0N for protection.

Nah, no big ladies should be this afraid ---- as much gardening they do ' as said', each flowering season.

Still would be interested why no mention of killing off [[[all]]] flying insects, including especially, ``` innocent non biting nice natured bugs```.... Somewhat thought provoking answers needed!

AND! No.... I don't have any love loss for any insect carrying toxins from other countries or harmful disease carrying venoms.

Definitely not wanted!!! Nothing has been thoroughly explained that I would purchase. Just my perspective on a selling presentation.

I don't need a trap like this where I live, since we don't have mosquitoes, which I think would be the main target. But you do make a good point.

I am concerned that this product does not distinguish between good insects such as honeybees. other bee and butterflies and kills indiscriminately.

Hello! Thanks for the question. The DynaTrap does not attract pollinators like honeybees, butterflies, or hummingbirds. They are attracted to pollen and bright colors, not the carbon dioxide that DynaTrap produces.

This is also my concern with the DynaTrap. There are many types of insects that pollinate besides honeybees and butterfiles. I wouldn't use the DynaTrap all the time, as some callers have claimed to do. I'd use it only for certain occasions - for example, if we had a picnic or garden party, or were just relaxing in the yard for the afternoon.

Good points, NAES. What about ladybugs? What about dragonflies? What about all those insects, even those that annoy us, that are part of the ecosystem that we barely understand, are food for the frogs and birds, etc.? How about the bats? Can't remember if they eat bugs, but we don't want to mess up the lives of our nonrabid bats, do we?

What really stopped me from considering this further--and this will sound nuts--is I didn't think I had the right to kill other people's bugs. My property is 1.5 acres, and even though the bigger trap is just 1 acre, I wondered if I'd be attracting bugs from other adjacent properties owned by people who want the ecosystem left just as it is. I don't think we need more than our personal space free of bugs, and anything more seems like overkill, in all senses of the term. I try for a small carbon footprint, and would like to avoid expanding my nature-killing footprint as well.

It's hard to tell whether your upset about bugs or the host....

The Dyna trap emits carbon dioxide which attracts mosquitos, thus trapping them. I'm sure it gets moths too.

But if you drive a vehicle, you're killing many more insects (a whole Ark load) that go into your grill. Good ones, bad ones.

Now if you only ride a bicycle or a horse and buggy, then they are safe.

If a car's sole purpose was to kill insects, you'd have a point. But they're collateral damage.

This trap is a killing device. The sole function of this device is to wipe out certain insects in a large area. Some of us are not convinced that the mechanism of action is reliably discriminating, and I personally take issue with whether wiping out all of certain types of insects in such a relatively large area is something we should be doing at all.

I read in some of the reviews from last year, there were times honey bees were found in the trap. Last year, I asked about hummingbird moths (pollinate at night and are attracted to light since they are a moth), and never got an answer. Then there is fireflies (not around here), lady bugs, etc.

When I saw the review about honey bees found, I said no. There is no oops when it comes to pollenator bees. Off lanterns work well enough and don't burn a bit of electricity.

I bought one of these last year and I only got gnats....mosquitos...moths in it........no bees or butterflies went near it.. I didn't put it in the middle of my flower garden either, but on the corner of the barn. I saw butterflies, bees, lady bugs, fireflies, japanese beetles all around the garden as much as usual.

Looking in the cup though...I didnt think it caught as many as they claimed it does. We did not get eaten alive outside in the evenings....

I still don't know if it is worth running all the time

I understand that. But if someone wants to decrease the amount of mosquitos in their personal space, I say it's up to them.

I'd rather that than having planes flying over dumping insecticide/pesticide/chemicals where everything and everyone is affected. No choice in the matter and I feel it's a very unhealthy one.

I happened to flip over twice yesterday while this was being presented and both times they went through which insects this kills and which it doesn't.

So to say they don't distinguish is inaccurate.

@Nomore They said it does attract wasps and hornets, so my question was if it attracts them I would think it would attract bees. I passed on the purchase because of that, bees are in enough danger without adding to it.

Here's a way to prevent mosquitoes from biting you or guests when outdoors: install moving floor fans as they dislike moving air.

No, I did not have any interest of a purchase of the killing device, but also have no time to poof away answering jabber jib "stuff".

I really did appreciate your concern (of the almost) demise of the common honey bee.

A very huge connection of chemicals, also troubles me.
