Hahaha! Thank you. I will share this with people I work with. We don't do video chats, but our team is international and we have some of our calls at night or with people who work from home and have been interruped by barking dogs ("oh, the mail is here, sorry"), children ("sorry about that, my daughter came in and was blowing my papers all over the room), and one woman's cockatiel ("Sorry, he is extra excited today").

We've also been interrupted by people who had someone stop by their desks to ask a question and the person on our call didn't push the mute button before starting a deskside meeting. And just yesterday I was on a call where I could barely hear the guy because there were two other men talking very loudly. The guy I was meeting with was working from home while a renovation was in progress and it was the construction crew I heard.

You just never know what you'll get on those calls.

Thanks for the smile on this gloomy/rainy day in Va. That was really cute.

It reminded me of the days when my now (adult) daughters would come into the kitchen when I was on the phone. They'd go into the refrigerator, through the cabinets, mouth full of cookies, candies, etc and where was I?

Well, I was tethered to the phone. My arms reaching so far trying to grab that kid while the other person is on the other end (often my mother boo hooing about my sister's). Sometimes it would be business and I couldn't say, "Can you hold on while I 'kill' my kid?" Ha! It was often right before or after dinner when they KNEW they shouldn't be eating (especially junk).

On more than one occasion I accidentally pulled the cord from the phone on the wall. I even had one of those cords that were the longest you could buy! My husband was constantly fussing with the cord because it was so long and stretched out and got in HIS way!

True story: Once he was on the phone (sometimes he worked from home) talking to someone on an important business deal and I heard all of this commotion coming from (of course....the kitchen). I ran in just in time to see the cat tangled up in the long cord jumping up and down like it was being strangled. My husband (not missing a beat) was telling the person on the other end, "Is that commotion coming from your end? Something's wrong! I'll have to call you back when we have a better connection". (What he meant was, "My cat is getting strangled by the cord and my wife and kids will kill me if I let it happen!").

After that he only made and accepted business calls from his downstairs office! Ha!

Anyway, Thank goodness for cordless phones. Even so, ever wonder why it is when the phone rings, the cordless can't ever be found? I don't have that problem but my daughter (the one with 2 teenagers and 2 boys who like to talk on the phone) can't ever find her cordless phones. They've been found in the most unusual places...

I'm so glad you all enjoyed the clip as I was a bit worried about the commotion at the end as it could look a bit rough but I literally snorted my coffee when that little one rolled in through the door . . . I had to change my clothes it was that bad as I soaked with coffee . . .

@Annabellethecat66 thank you for this post. I know from reading your posts through the years you and your husband were blessed to find each other and build a good life and a great family. I am sorry he left before his time but thank you for sharing these great and heartwarming stories (I cannot tell you how much I love that DH was quick enough on his feet to deflect the conversation away from the commotion that what was actually happening in order to re-establish the conversation on more shall we say cord free ground . . . ).

I laughed so hard when I saw that on tv! OMG it was just the funniest thing I ever saw. Yes, it's tough being a working parent...lol I never do video chats with the people at work. I'm always afraid that I'll sit down, dial in and forget that I'm sitting there in my bra or even worse, I have no makeup on.

When his daughter entered the room I think it would have been appropriate at that moment to laugh it off and pick up the child and carry her out and then lock the door. I think pushing on her little body to get her to leave was not something anyone needed to see and that one element of this incident she will probably remember.

I've watched this countless times since it was on the news. I just can't stop laughing. I heard that the wife's ability to slide into the room is now called Kramerizing? I just love how the little girl comes marching in like she's all that. When the boy comes rolling in I'm in stitches. Seems everything that can go wrong for this poor dad does go wrong!

And then, the finale is the little girl winds up being dragged while protesting out the door. If you watch closely you can see she just lies down on the floor as she's being dragged.

Just funny all the way around. Gosh, I miss when my kids were little.
