I see my Graver TSV has been shipped via FedExSmartPost. Does that mean it will arrive in a FedEx truck or will the final delivery come via USPS.

Three times in the past 2 weeks I received a neighbor's deliveries, so I need to know whether I should track that coat carefully. I usually don't bother, but I also usually receive my delieveries from QVC in my locked mailbox.

The odds are in favor of it being handed to your local post office and delivered by them. Only occasionally will you get a message that FedEx is already in the area and will deliver it directly. So plan on it coming from USPS.

Mine hasn't shipped yet. But FedEx Smart Post means the USPS will be delivering it. They've already lost one of my Amazon orders this week.

Thanks all for your responses. I'm hoping they hand off to the USPS - I get very good service from them here in my community.

I had no idea FedEX was bad, but 3 misdeliveries in less than 10 days is pretty bad. I did get to meet a nice neighbor when I delievered her boxes, but other than that? Shame on the FedEx driver - I could read all the labels on those boxes - without my glasses - and I'm probably twice his age!

I've noticed more companies using FedEx and FedEx Smartpost for delivery recently.

I wonder if FedEx is actively seeking more business with better rates than UPS and USPS.

I prefer UPS over FedEx.

With FedEX and UPS...the problem comes after the hand off to the P.O. I have an acct. with UPS that allows me to pay $3.00 for UPS to deliver directly and avoid the P.O. I always do that and it comes a day or two sooner too.

Anytime you see SmartPost that means it will be handed over to the post office.

I understand Fed Ex is less expensive than UPS but every company has their own negotiated rates. The companies discount is based on volume meaning the more they ship dollars wise the more of a discount is applied to their invoice. The other way it's handled is the sales person sits down with the company, the company estimates what they will ship annually and the flat rate discount is applied to their invoices immediately.

My business has the first example, my semi monthly discount is applied based on the total dollars shipped for those 2 wks.
